"That's it," Cole admitted, "I used to hate dragons, but now I officially hate snakes."
They watched from the log as the Serpentine on the shore chuckled, waiting for their doom.
"Wait, do you see that?" Kai mumbled. "A magic floating rope. We can climb to safety."
Of course, there was no rope.
Before Kai could walk off the log and disintegrate, Jay grabbed his collar. "Boy, that Venomari venom is some powerful stuff." The log continue to be eaten away, bringing the ninja closer and closer to the toxic water. The snakes continued to laugh from the shore.
Zane said softly, "For whatever it is worth, it was an honor to fight beside you all."
"Me too."
"Yeah, ditto."Right as the ninja were about to fall into the acid and fall apart, a rope fell from out of nowhere. It dangled precariously in front of their faces, bringing all laugher to a halt. "Hey, what?" Cole said, torn on whether to be confused or relieved.
Kai grinned dopily beneath his hood. "The magic rope. Ha," he slurred.
"Quick," Jay snapped, "Everyone, climb over."
The sound of an engine rumbling caught Pythor's attention. A giant robo-mech descended from the murky sky, making all the snakes stare in awe. It landed on the ground, whirring and clicking as it aggressively held out a clawed hand to the snakes. They backed away. A net shot from the palm of the mech, catching two of the snakes as all of the other Serpentine ran for their lives. The Venomari retreated to the waters where it was safest. The mech turned its attention to the only snake that hadn't run: Pythor. "Oh dear," the snake mumbled.
The chest plate of the mech opened, revealing a stranger with a mask and armor. "Pythor: target confirmed," they said, voice completely monotone and warped. "Time to bag and tag."
The Anacondrai turned tail and slithered away, but not before the stranger shot a dart into his tail. He yelped and slithered faster, disappearing out of sight. The ninja watched the stranger jump gracefully to the ground, curious. "Who are you?" Cole asked, approaching.
"How about the coolest thing I've ever seen?" Jay cheered.
"Santa?" Kai said, eyes distant.
Zane took a few more steps in their direction. "Thank you, mysterious warrior. I owe you my life for saving—"
He was cut off as the stranger sprayed laughing gas in his face, causing him to pass out. "Now that wasn't very nice," Jay pouted before they were all hit with the laughing gas. The stranger activated a rope hook that pulled them back into the mech, and they flew away without another word. The ninja continued to lay there until a light beamed down upon their sleeping forms. The Destiny's Bounty had found them.

Later that night, while everyone was eating dinner, the ninja spilled their story.
"So then, just when we were gonna bite it," Jay said excitedly, "This huge mechanical robot—"
"Samurai," Zane corrected irritably. "It was samurai."
"A sama-what?" Lloyd asked, turning between the two. You silently continued eating, eyes wide and interested.
"Samurai," Wu clarified, "Highest level of warrior class. They would protect nobility and serve with honor on the battlefield."
Kai nodded, still dazed and under influence. "He was a hundred feet high, with weapons coming out of every part of him." You leaned in, giggling. "Look at Sensei's beard. It's moving like snakes."
