Gray was never the same around me. He didn't talk to me, all he did was just... look at me! Like I was some puzzle he needed to solve. Juvia was very grateful towards me. Even though he never would've gotten hurt if he was alone, but she didn't linger on that fact. Her sons and daughter were also very grateful, more the twins for the elder son, Storm, kept shying away from me. Gale didn't look at me like I was something gross she stepped on, more like I was an annoying kid who kept trying to be her friend... which I guess I was...

Fairy Tail opened me with open arms, and for 3 days I lived with Mirajane not even bothering to think about mother. Yes, I did worry, but my first priority was to find dad.

"So Nashi, where's your parents. They must be worried sick." Mirajane casually asked as we washed dishes. "I live with my mom, my dad doesn't know I exist." the clinking of dishes had stopped. "Is that so? How old are you Nashi?" Mirajane resumed scrubbing plates. "10, turning 11 in a month." Mirajane fell silent once more. "When's your birthday?" I dry the last cup and turn to Mira. "September 19." Mirajane was frowning, but when she realized I was watching, she smiled. "Ah, then we must prepare!" I stare at her in confusion. "It's August 16, I still have a while." Mira didn't stop smiling. "And? What's the harm of preparing earlier." Mira picked me up and dropped me off in the guest room. "Night."

I hear silence, then a door opening and closing. "Hey mom, guess what?" a new voice asks. "Ah, Nova you're back. Where's your father?" Mirajane asks. I tip toe to the door and peek through the crack. "I don't know. But anyway, those monsters were so easy, but I figured something out. When I countered some of their attacks, I actually sent electricity running through their bodies. Like I could see the sparks." Mirajane fell silent. "Really?" the 12 year old, I assume, blonde nodded. "Yep." suddenly I feel something crawling on my arm. I shake my arm but the feeling travels down to my hand.

"This room hasn't been used in awhile, so it might be dusty."

I gasp, remembering Mira's words. I look down at my hand and see a spider, as big as my face I tell you, staring at me. I let out a scream and shake it off me. I then run to Mira and hide behind her. "Nashi?" I point at the spider who was now crawling towards us. "On *sniffle* hand." I choke out. "Ah, I thought so. Hold still." Mirajane then grabbed and cup and a magazine. She caught the spider and threw it out. She walked towards me smiling, but as she got closer, the warm smile turned into a frown. "Hold stilll Nashi." she instructed. "Ew, there's one on your hair." the blonde pointed out.

  And that triggered it.

The warmth covered the whole top of my head and a few seconds later, a charred spider fell to the floor. "Mom, you didn't tell me you brought a flaming hazard child into this household." I begin crying. "Oh Nashi, Nova dear, can you call Juvia. This house has a spider infestation and I fear the worst for this poor little girl. Gray and Juvia can take her in. They despise bugs so their will be no problem there." Mira looked like she was trying really hard to stay calm.

  And so they did.

Juvia welcomed me with open arms, giving Storm a teasing grin. Whatever that means. I was sent to share a room with her daughter Sylvia. She was only 2 years younger, meaning she was 8,  but she had a very... interesting room.

It looked like a rainbow had puked on the walls and Christmas and her Birthday was everyday. Piles of toys everywhere, you couldn't even see the floor. "Hey, can I tell you a secret?" she asks. I nod. "Mom told me to clean my room but I didn't. Gale tells me that means I'm a rebel." she looked so proud of herself. I giggle and ruffle her hair. She acted like a 6 year old. "Hey, don't do that. Storm always does that and I hate it." I smile at her. 'Adorable.'

"Hey Sylvie, you done with that sh-sh-sh-sh-" I stare at Storm in confusion. "Sh?" I ask. "Shower." he squeaked out. Then left with a red face. "He's acting weird."  Sylvia points out. I shrug and take a step towards the bed. "Eek!" I cry out in pain. I glare at pieces of Legos. "Sylvia, let's clean your room, if not I won't be able to sleep here." I look around the room. This was going to take awhile.

"I'm so glad you're here Nashi. The kids were really excited to finally have a friend over. Are your parents okay with this?" Juvia asks as the kids chow down their spaghetti. Gray stares at me. "Umm, I only have my mom. And she doesn't exactly know I'm here..." I confess. "Is that so? She thinks your with Mirajane?" Gray asks. "No, I... ran away." I confessed, not wanting to lie anymore. I waited for them to kick me out. Who would run away from home? Only a bad kid. "Oh Nashi, you should go back. Why did you run in the first place?" I shrug. "I wanted to find my dad. He doesn't know I exist but maybe if I tell him about me. He'll get with mom and we'll be a family." silence followed. "Yeah, I know, it's stupid." I sigh. "I think it's a good idea. I mean, in my opinion." I stare at Storm. "Or you know, like you said. It might be stupid." he muttered. "So you don't have a dad?" Rin, Sylvia's twin brother, asked. "Rin!" Juvia said. "No. I'm kinda embarrassed to ask, but what does a dad even do?"

Storm taps his chin and swallows his food. "Well, they teach you a lot of stuff, play games with you, let you have candy even though mom never lets you." Juvia glared at Gray. "Storm ." Gray jokingly punched his son. "Really?" I ask. Storm nods. "I wish I had a dad." I say. "So Nashi, who'd you get your powers from?" I stare at Gray in confusion. "The fire. Mom?" I shake my head. "I don't know, my mom is only an author. Not a wizard." Juvia tilts her head. "What books has she written?" I turn to the blue haired mage. "The 'Wizard from the Ashes' series. Know them?" Juvia gasps. "NO WAY! You're mom is Layla Ashe?!" Storm exclaims. "Yep." Storm blushes and Gray looks at me in confusion. Like something didn't fit. "Is that her real name?" I nod. "Yep." Storm kept mumbling things like, "No way." Or "So COOL!" I was normally used to this but I couldn't help but feel flustered. "Come on Nashi, kids, time for bed." I realize that I had never even taken a bite of my food. Everyone else was finished with their pasta. "Nashi, you want me to save that for you?" I nod. "Yeah, thanks." Juvia gives me a hug. "Of course. Now you can go watch TV while the twins and Storm take their baths." I grin. "Oh come on. Why can't I do that?" Storm complains. "Go take a bath young man." Juvia says sternly. I giggle and make my way to the couch.
