A couple weeks had gone by and the days only became harder for the young prodigy. Hiro stares out his window for a second before twisting the blinds shut. He looks down at the Mega-bot in his hand, falling flat on his red beanbag chair. All he could do was gaze blankly at the Mega-bot's red face.
The numb feeling Hiro has been having hasn't gone away. He couldn't shake off the fact his closest relative was gone forever. He's never going to hear Tadashi's constant nagging or teasing. Never get to do their secret handshake or build tech together. All-in-all, Hiro just felt empty.
"Hey, sweetie," Aunt Cass's soft voice greeted, breaking the dead silence in the room.
Hiro hid Mega-bot behind his beanbag, greeting his aunt back monotonously, "Hey, Aunt Cass."
Aunt Cass walks over to Hiro, holding a freshly made plate of breakfast food. "Mrs. Matsuda's in the cafe. She's wearing something super inappropriate for an 80-year-old," Aunt Cass says lightheartedly, spotting a ghost of a smile on Hiro's face.
"That always cracks me up," She adds, staring down at the barely touched dinner plate lying on Hiro's windowsill.
She sighs a little sadly, picking up the plate and laying down the breakfast one for a replacement.
"You should ... come down. Maybe I can call up [F/N] and see what she's up to? I'm sure her sweet ol' grandma would let her spend the night."
"Maybe another time," Hiro says, staring at the floor.
Aunt Cass nods in understanding, walking over to his desk and pulling up the blinds behind it.
"The University called again. It's, uh, been a couple weeks since class has started. But they said it's not too late to register," She says, fixing the SFIT envelope on Hiro's desk.
"Okay. Thanks. I'll ... I'll think about it," He answers, continuing to stare at the floorboards.
The smile on Aunt Cass's face soon falls and she walks back down the stairs, leaving Hiro to his own merits. He takes the Mega-bot out from under the beanbag chair and walks over to his desk, pulling the blinds back down. He sits down by his computer, switching it on and searching for new bot fights close by. Suddenly, a notification pops up on his screen. It was a video message sent from Honey Lemon. He sighs a little and clicks on it, opening up the video as it played.
He watches with a saddened stare as [F/N] and the gang all greet him at once.
"We just ... wanted to check in and see how you're doing," Honey says.
"We wish you were here, buddy," Wasabi adds.
[F/N] smiles sadly and says, "Hiro, I'm sorry about everything ... and I want to make it up to you. I love you–"
Hiro turns off his computer and stands up slowly, eyeing the Mega-bot and envelope sat side by side. He thinks for a moment, taking the envelope in his grasp and narrowing his eyes. He throws it in the garbage can and grabs the Mega-bot. The leg comes unscrewed and lands directly on Hiro's toe.
"Ow!"
He immediately drops the bot and jumps around on one leg, rubbing his sore toe in pain. He lands on his bed roughly, wincing.
"Ow ...!"
Suddenly, the sound of a balloon being inflated fills the space of the room. Hiro turns around to Tadashi's corner, and to his surprise, Baymax appeared. The Nurse Bot stared at Hiro for a second, blinking his circular eyes while struggling to walk out from Tadashi's side of the room. Once he does clumsily make it out, he wobbles over to Hiro and lifts his arm up in a circular motion.
