Doraemon's Short Stories (Book 1)

Black Belt Nobita

Note: This story is from another book, where I copied "Slow and Quick".

Nobi, Giant and Suneo were walking home from school.

Giant: I'm taking judo lessons from my dad.

Suneo: Sounds great.

Giant: (asking them) Shall I teach you?

Nobi: (excited) Teach us, teach us.

But for a second, Nobi knew what would happen next. He gasped.

Nobi: (walking away) Some other time...

Too late, Giant hold his shirt from behind...

Giant: First, you grab him like this.

Then, he threw it away, passing Suneo. Nobi's head first landed on the ground.

Suneo: (clapping) Cool!

He went home, full of bandages and scratches of blood over his head. He explained it all to Doraemon.

Nobi: ...and that's what happened.

Doraemon: (shouting) And you just came home with your tail between your legs? Be a man! Throw him down!

Nobi: (scared) But I'm scared.

Doraemon felt unforgiving...

Nobi: (puts his hand into Doraemon's pocket) Can you lend me anything that will make me become strong?

Doraemon: (laughing) Stop it! That tickes!

He took out from his pocket at black long cloth...

Doraemon: Well, then let's try this.

Nobi was confused about that cloth...

Doraemon: A "black belt" that makes you good at judo.

Nobi was wearing the belt, only, he was not sure if he could be good at judo.

Nobi: Can I really become strong just by wearing this?

Doraemon: (winking) Whoever touches you will be flung away.

Nobi's happiness was going back in his feelings.

Nobi: (feeling confident) Using this, I can get even with Giant.

Doraemon: That's right!

Nobi: (trying to hug Doraemon) Doraemon, thank you!

Doraemon: (running away from Nobi) Oh, don't touch me!!!

When Nobi touched Doraemon, he hold Doraemon and threw it away, across the room.

Doraemon: (flying away) Anyone you touch will be flung away automatically.

Nobi put bandages on Doraemon, and went out to find Giant.

Doraemon: Don't touch anybody you're not aiming for.

Nobi: I'll be careful...

He was going to overcome his fear from Giant, so he searched for him.

Nobi: (feeling a bit more confident) I'm only after Giant.

He saw Giant  and Suneo walking down in a small path.

Nobi: There he is.

Nobi called them, Giant and Suneo turned their heads.

Nobi: Hey, let's try judo again.

Giant and Suneo that he was joking, and he can't fight.

Nobi: (winking and smiling) OK, come one!
