Doraemon's Short Stories (Book 1)

"Honmono Zukan"

NOTE: Ok, let's have first a break finishing Vol. 28, it's been weeks since I've posted from another comic book center, but this one is so much easier, enjoy!

"There are things called 'Tarsiers'," Suneo pointed out, "And they live far to the south," And then he pointed at Nobi. "They look just like Nobi!" he laughed. Giant and a kid laughed, "Really?" Giant asked, laughing.

But there's something strange at Nobi, he walked away, still smiling. "Hey," said the kid. "He doesn't even care if you insult him."

"Then what's the point of teasing him?" asked Suneo, confused. Giant, shocked about what happened, also confused as Nobi walked away.

"He said you look like tarsiers?!" Doraemon jumped out from his seat as Nobi explain. "Why didn't you get angry about that?!" he shouted.

"Why should I?" he said, smiling. "If they look like me, they must be pretty good-looking monkeys." he continued. Doraemon rolled his eyes, then he saw Nobi taking out a book from the bookshelves. "I'll look up them in the picture book to see how wonderful they are." he said. Doraemon felt embarrassing for him.

When Nobi started searching from the book, he was shocked. "Hey! The pages on monkeys are missing!" He then felt ashamed, "When I lent it to my friend, he must have torn the pages out. What a jerk!"

"You shouldn't lend such an important book." Doraemon said. Then he started shoving into his pocket, "Look up for them in my picture books." he continued.

Just then, a lot of picture books was out from his pocket, "This is a picture book of plants," he said, holding a book with a picture of a plant, "And this is a picture book of insects." he continued as he shove deeper into his pocket, taking out more picture books, making a mountain of it.

"Where's the picture book of animals!?" he shouted as he took out every book in his pocket, but then, he realized he found it already. "I found it!" he sighed. Nobi examined the front cover, "What does 'Honmono Zukan' mean?" he asked. Doraemon smiled, "Just watch."

Doraemon opened the book and started searching for the tarsier, "A tarsier is on page 263." He then flipped the pages quickly as he can and saw the picture, "This is it." he said. He then flipped the book around while opened. Which means that Doraemon turned the book around, the tarsier page is facing the floor while Doraemon was facing at the cover. Then, Doraemon tapped the cover and then a tarsier popped out of the book, which made Nobi jumpscared.*

(*Look, I'm bad at describing stuff like the one I did from The Unorganized Play, hope you can still understand it.)

Doraemon took the tarsier and carried it, "You can see the real thing. That's the advantage of this picture book." Then he giggled, "He really does look like you." Nobi then burst out with anger that made the tarsier jumped out from Doraemon. "That's enough. Put it back!" he shouted.

Doraemon chased the tarsier while holding the book backward, means that he's like showing the book to the person in front. He jumped and putting the tarsier back in the book. "There we go." he sighed. Nobi looked at the books, having a great idea, only for him.

"What great pictures books!" he said. "Lend them to me."

Doraemon quickly stopped Nobi from getting the books, "No, they are the real things, so I'll be in big trouble if you lose them." But you know how Nobi gets, "I'll be careful. Come on, lend them to me."

At Nobi's window, there's smoke coming out. "There's smoke coming out of Nobita's room!" yelled a kid. As the smoke became larger, another kid realized the smoke, "That's not a smoke, it's a thunderhead!"

"No. We can only see those in the summer. They bring thunder and showers." Suneo wondered out loud.

Just then, loud thunders and heavy rain poured down on them, almost all of them. They were wet, while Nobi was looking at the window, then went out with the other books. "I let it out of this picture book." he said, showing a book with a picture of a weather. Then he showed the other books, all of it. "I have a lot of others."

A kid, who was shivering in cold, pointed a book, "Honmono Zukan?"

For a second, they looked at the books. Next second, they all tried to get their favorite book. "Lend one to me!" said a kid. "Me, too!" said another. "Ooh, me!" said the other.

After the fight, Nobi was injured, and all the books were gone. He then went to tell Doraemon, "What!? Your friends took the books home!?!" he shouted. He then started to panic, "Aren't they the kind of guys who tear pages out of the books they borrow?!?!"

Nobi tried to let Doraemon calm, "I'll get them back."

They were at Giant's house, "Just a little longer," Giant said, but Doraemon groaned. He took the picture book and opened it. "Oh no!" Doraemon shouted. "He ate all the snack!" he said. The pictures were all gone, only the labels were left. He then got angry at Giant, so angry Giant was forced to buy snacks. "I'll buy you new ones." he said, taking his money from his wallet.

After a few minutes, Doraemon and Nobi were in another house, of a kid who collects butterflies. "Some of the butterflies are missing!" he shouted. The kid was forced to give the butterflies back, "I thought I'd finally found some rare ones." he said.

After a few returnings, they saw 2 of Nobi's friends riding in an old car. They both chased the car, "Isn't that a car from 'the picture book of vehicles'?" Doraemon asked. "We'll give it back after we take a spin." one of the kids said.

Just then, the car crashed, and they both went out. They quickly gave the book, and the broken car back. Doraemon's face turned red as he saw the broken car in the book. But only that one was used, so, it's fine.

They now went to Shizuka's house, when they heard a scream, "Someone save me!" They quickly ran to see Shizuka screaming, and behind him were different kind of ghosts. They went in and placed the ghosts back in the book.

They both got the picture books back, "We got them all back. What a relief!" Nobi sighed. But Doraemon counted it, "No, one of them is still missing." he said. "It's 'the picture book of ancient creatures'." he continued. "I'm sure Suneo will have it." Nobi said, quickly going to Suneo's house.

But as they get near the house, they heard a scream. "Wah!" Suneo shouted. Then they saw Suneo panicking and behind him was a large mammoth. "Why did you let a mammoth out of the book?" Doraemon asked nervously, then he tried to let Suneo calm. "Be quiet! If we make him angry, there's nothing we can do." he said. The mammoth stared at them as Doraemon, Nobi and Suneo tried to calm.

"Let's calm him down with a soft song." he said. Then Doraemon started singing, "Mr. Elephant, you have such a long trunk."

The mammoth slowly blinked, "It's working! He's charmed!" he whispered. "Nice Mr. Elephant, lovely Mr. Elephant" he said as he took the picture book, and then started walking behind him, "I love you, Mr. Elephant."

After that, he turned around and opened the book, but as he get closer the mammoth turned around and glared at him, Doraemon was scared. Just then, the mammoth's trunk attacked Doraemon, throwing the book away. "Oh no, the book!" Then the mammoth chased them, "Run away!" Doraemon shouted.

Nobi had an idea, "I'll let out strong people out of 'the picture book of stories'." he said, letting out heroes in the book. But as the mammoth rage, they got beaten up. "They're useless." he said.

Then he started running away again as the mammoth chased him, then he got catched by the mammoth's trunk, that's when the mammoth stopped.

But he never knew where Doraemon is, he was flying above the mammoth with the book and quickly opened the book. For a second, the mammoth was now inside the book. "I did it!" Doraemon shouted.

"Nobi, the mammoth is back in the book, you can relax now." he continued. But as he looked around, he wasn't there, until there was a voice, "I'm in here."

He looked inside the book and saw a picture of Nobi, crying. Beside him was a label, "Nobita-kun". "Let me out!" he shouted. Doraemon and Suneo got shocked as he looked the kid that actually got added in the book.
