The dwarf anticipated the attack.  She flipped and used her boots to lock onto the sword.  Using her arms as leverage, she twisted and made the king loosen his hold on the sword.  The elf landed gracefully eventhough he was disarmed.  The dwarf did not pick up her mace or the sword but entered a fist fight with the elf.  She parried the king's fists, he did the same.  The onlookers were amazed at how fast both were and how graceful they fought each other.  It was hard to see who was winning though.

"Malory, knock him out!" Adina shouted her encouragement.  "You wouldn't want your mate to be disappointed."

Immediately, Malory's attacks doubled in speed.  She was able to land punches onto the elf king but not enough to knock him out.  Malory also received a few hits.  One sent her sprawling backward with a busted lip.  Deacon raised his hands in surrender.

"I give, my queen.  This is enough." He grimaced as his sides ached.  He held his hand onto the bruise to his right.  The dwarf queen wiped the blood from her lips.

"I yield first, pretty boy.  You slapped my face."  She smiled evilly.  She looked too happy for someone who just lost.

"Squish his hair time." Adina shouted, her hands flicking as she advanced at the elf king.  Malory joined in and even Rose.  The onlookers were floored at seeing the elf king running away like a girl screaming for help as the three women chased him around trying to get a hold of his hair. When Deacon tripped, the girls dived and ruined his  immaculate hairstyle.

"Ehem.  Are you done?" King Cadmus tried to be discreet but it had the immediate effect.  The girls scrambled off Deacon who was now sporting two high ponytails on either side of his head.  Eventhough he looked totally ridiculous, he still looked dignified.

The queen and the others sniggered at the unusual look.

The elf king sighed while removing his hair from the clips holding it in place.  Rose handed over a hair tie and he thanked her while tying his hair.  Adam could see the drool coming from the females as the king's muscular torso stretched deliciously.

"We are not yet done, your majesty." Deacon intoned.  He then sauntered off towards his sword and Malory picked up her mace.  Adina leaped up a tree and withdrew three arrows each aimed at Rose who stood in the middle.

"Oh.  Let's leave them to it then.  It would only be a minute." King Cadmus moved away from the balcony but returned when the others didn't budge.  "Are you sure you want to see this?" He asked Adam, his smile wide and guileless.

Adam was fascinated to say the least.  He hadn't been able to get his eyes off the elf and dwarf confrontation.  He had heard of the attacks done by each species that their kind were wary of approaching them but seeing them up close like this was a whole new level of learning.  Now his mate will fight it out with her retinue.  He was excited to see what she has to show.

"Sir, I am honored that they are giving us the opportunity to even see this." He replied truthfully to the king.  He then refocused on the field.

The two protectors were circling around Rose who remained motionless and unarmed.  Adam was concerned that she was without weapons but her stance remains confident and unfazed.  The staredown continued until they heard a distinct twang and three arrows were released.  Rose's head twisted towards the sound and immediately turned, effectively evading the arrows.  Three more were released and at the same time, Malory aimed her mace to the side and Deacon slashed right to the other side.  Rose dodged the trajectories and used her left hand to hold the broadsword's blade in place and her right palm to stop the mace.

The force of the mace blew like a swish of released air and fluttered their hairs.  Everyone gasped as Rose effectively stopped the king and queen's attack.  Suddenly, a brown wolf entered the fray and advanced at her.  Rose sensed the upcoming attack and used her palm to punch the mace away.  The queen was thrown towards the farthest tree.  Rose then used both hands and threw the elf king towards the queen.  Both tumbled back just as the wolf opened her mouth towards Rose's neck.

Adam almost jumped down to intercept but Rose raised her fist and made an uppercut on the wolf's jaw and throwing the wolf off but it landed gracefully and moved back to attack.  Rose faced the attacker  and she didn't even shift to face off the wolf.  The wolf made to leap from side to side, looking for a chance to attack.  Soon the elf king and the dwarf queen joined in, their weapons discarded.  The wolf leaped towards the bushes and emerged as Adina.  After pinning her hair, she joined in the free for all.

Rose deflected their fists.  They aggressively threw punches and kicks which Rose seemingly deflected with her own legs and arms.  Adam squinted his eyes to catch their movements.  But it was all a blur.  Next thing he knew,  all three were tossed back like rag dolls and Rose stood back with a smirk.

"Damn, girl.  You pack a whallop!" Adina complained while holding her side.  She collapsed onto her knees.

"Oh shit!" Connor sputtered before leaping off the balcony to aid her.  Mavis did the same when he saw the dwarf queen crumpled down and unconscious.

"Hah!  That's my princess." Deacon said proudly, a bruise forming on his cheeks.  His lips were bloodied and he was still holding onto his side.  He was proud of the fact that Rose had learned well from their fist fights that she already knew which points to hit.  She didn't even hit any of the bruises he and Malory had but she graciously added new ones.  He grimaced as he limped forward to Malory's limp form, closely followed by his cousin.  They almost reached her, when Malory groaned and started to get up.

"Hey ease up, Rose.  Just getting knocked up by you retracts my brain cells to kingdom come." Malory groaned as she shifted to her knees and shook her head, her hair coming unbound and flopping down her back.  Mavis reached her first and held out his hand.  Malory contemplated his hand and was seriously thinking if she should just swoon so that he could carry her but decided that she wasn't a wuss or helpless.  She was a queen, damn it!

"Thank you." She breathed out as their hands met.  The spark climbed up her arm and she did everything she could to contain her gasp but Mavis was different.  His eyes glittered with appreciation.

"My leannan." Mavis said in wonder.  He covered her hand with both of his and turned to kiss her palm. The onlookers smiled knowingly as they seemed to be in a world of their own.  Deacon held his hands on his hips and smirked.  Let's see if his cousin could tame the wild dwarf queen.
