Demetry's POV
"Demetry, it's time to get up. You don't want to be late for your first day of school." My mom sang from the other side of my door. "I'm up!" I yelled wanting her to go away.
Why, why did I have to go to school, why? It sucks so so much. I reluctantly sat up, I don't even know where to start. Better just get up and do something.
"Have a nice day." My mom said as I got out of the car. "Mhm." I hummed back at her. I was walking towards the entrance of the school when I noticed a few kids beating up some other kid. Wait I know him... that's the crazy kid that warned me about vampires. Looks like he should've warned me about bullies.
He looked up at me with pleading eyes, why did he have to look at me, why? Now I have to go help him. Luckily the bullies decided they were done with him and walked away laughing. I walked over to him and helped him up.
"You okay?" I asked. "Yeah, just a few bruises nothing that'll hurt too much." He said dusting himself off. "You know you shouldn't let them beat you up like that, stand up for yourself." I told him. "That would just draw more attention to me." He said shrugging.
"Don't you have friends that can stand up for you?" I asked curious. "Hmm... nope." He said thinking about it for a second. "But I have a feeling that might change soon." He said elbowing me on my arm. "Whatever smart guy, what's your name?" I asked.
"Luke, yours?" He asked. "Demetry." I said shaking is hand joking around, being friendly. I wanted to be left alone but a single friend might not hurt. "Well Luke, will you show me to the office? I need to go get everything set up for me since I'm new." I asked. He nodded and gestured in the direction of the office and we started walking there.
After I was done with setting up everything for me at my new school the bell rang. I was actually happy that the bell rang so that I didn't have to walk around the halls like a lost puppy.
I looked down at the piece of paper in my hand... math, really my first period of the day had to be math. Fine... let's just get it over with. I walked to my math class almost getting lost once or twice. Luckily they gave me a map of the school grounds.
I walked into class just as the bell rang. "Ah you must be Demetry, our new student. I'm Mr. Taylor and I'll be your math teacher for the year." He said extending his hand. I looked down at his hand then up at him with a dull expression. He got the hint and lowered his hand.
"You'll be sitting at the back next to Lexi, I hope she'll make the day easier for you." Mr. Taylor said earning a scoff from who could only be Lexi. "As if." She said crossing her arms over her chest. Mr. Taylor just cocked an eyebrow as I walked over to my seat.
"Don't get any ideas." Lexi said as I took my seat. "Can't think of any." I said plainly without even looking in her direction. She scoffed again as I pulled out my books. "That's a horrible sound, stop doing that." I said irritated by the bitch next to me. I could feel her glaring at me. There seems to be quite a bit of drama at this school.
The day went by pretty slow I had a few classes with Luke but we didn't sit close to each other. We sat together at lunch.
Alone, just the two of us. I was mostly quiet but he made up for it. I looked over at the popular table and saw Lexi. She was definitely the Queen of the populars. I could have guessed that. After lunch I had two boring periods, at least Luke wasn't there talking my ears off. And I only had two more periods left, the next class Luke and I had together and he was hoping we would sit next to each other in this one.
His face lit up when he realized that we did in fact sit together, I was okay with it until I found out how much he could talk without getting caught. It was tiring. "So are you coming to Lexi's party on Friday?" He asked excited.
"Lexi? Why would I go to her party? She's clearly the Queen bitch." I said irritated. "Because everyone always goes, the nerds, the jocks, everyone. You have to come, come on please, please please please be my wingman, I need a girl. I can't end high school without even having my first kiss. "He pleaded. I was surprised, I raised one eyebrow.
"You haven't had your first kiss?" I asked amused. He elbowed me. "Shut up." He said lightly blushing. He literally blushed. He's so innocent. I'm going to have to protect this kid from the world.
The bell rang, the last period. I was so happy that the day was almost over, so so happy. Until I walked in class. Of course I started my day sitting next to Lexi now I would end it sitting next to Lexi.
She scoffed when I started to sit down. I froze, of course she made that horrible irritating sound again. She smiled at my obvious irritation. I sat down. "I hope you know you're invited to my party, everyone is. But I bet you're so much of a loner you won't even make the effort of walking to the house next door." She said holding her head up high.
Wait... next door? It was her. She's the peeper. I cleared my throat. I turned my body facing her. "How would you know that I live next door?" I asked, she froze, her body visibly tensed. I grinned triumphantly. Say that again bitch.
She stayed quiet for the rest of the period. "O and before you leave, the person next to you will be your partner for all projects for the rest of the year." The English teacher said after the bell rang.
Lexi shot up from her chair, irritated with the news of who her partner would be. Hey I wasn't happy about it either but it didn't mean you had to stand up so abruptly that you sent your chair flying into the table behind you. This time I scoffed. She turned her head in my direction so fast that it probably hurt.
I wasn't about to deal with this Queen Bitch, I rolled my eyes and walked away. I wanted to go home and forget all about her BS.
