Wonderland in the Dark

Chapter 8

"Why did those flowers chase us away and call us weeds?" Sogo asked. Was that what Tamaki warned him about? All he did was tell them they weren't flowers.

"They always do that when a non-flowers come by their meadow. It's why we don't go near them most of the time" Tamaki explained. "Iorin wasn't home either, probably off somewhere"

"What does Iori-kun do for his job?" He realized he had never asked what the White Rabbit does. It must be an important job if he's always in a rush.

"He acts like a kind of messenger..I think. We don't really ask him about his job, actually we don't question any of our jobs or roles" 

Sogo wondered why they never questioned these things before. He sure would after a while. Even though he didn't know what his role was yet he still questioned it. None of them seemed to know what his purpose was.

The two continued watching down the path heading toward the kingdom Momo ruled. Although Tamaki and his friends had never bothered to go the the other kingdom, they knew where to find it. They had explored just about everywhere in Wonderland. But they were sure there was still some places they haven't found yet. They never knew with their strange home.

"Be careful in case the trump cards are still suspicious of you So-chan" Tamaki warned him. He nodded in reply, keeping close to the other.

Once they reached the second kingdom, it was a bit different compared to Yuki's kingdom, but they had some similarities. Almost immediately they were confronted by Gaku and Ryuu. It was to be expected since they were keeping an eye out for visitors to the kingdom.

"Hey Tamaki-kun, it's nice to see you again" Ryuu smiled to him. "Yeah. Hi Ryuu-aniki, Gakkun. Where's Tenten?"

"He headed home a while ago" Gaku answered. "So what are you and your friend doing here?"

"I'm giving So-chan a tour of Wonderland. Remember we said he doesn't get out much?"

"Tch. He should still know at least the basics, everyone does"

Tamaki stayed perfectly calm even with the trump soldier's suspicions against Sogo. There was no way they could keep up such a story though. Eventually they'd find out the truth. 

Sogo sighed and stepped in front of him. "I'm not from here"

"So-chan..!"

"What do you mean?" Ryuu asked curiously.

"I followed the White Rabbit, Iori-kun, and ended up here. I'm from a different world and trying to find my way back. Also please don't ask about why I'm wearing a dress, I don't know, I wasn't wearing one until I got here" Sogo spilled everything.

The three stared at Sogo trying to process what just happened. The Hatter didn't expect Sogo to admit everything without hesitation. Even after he confessed to everything he kept his serious expression. It was amazing that he had such courage, but also stupid for telling the trump soldiers the truth. Who knew what they'd do knowing he didn't belong there. He had to keep Sogo safe. They had to go now-

"So that's why we didn't know who you were! Well what do you think about Wonderland?" Ryuu asked excitedly.

"No wonder Momo-san was curious about you.."

"Wait you're not going to try to hurt So-chan or anything?" 

The two trump soldiers looked at him, then each others and laughed. "No no! If he was here to cause trouble for Wonderland we would, but since he hasn't done anything he's fine! We were just suspicious of him due to that reason"

Had they really just been misunderstanding the trump soldiers? 

"Tamaki-kun and his friends considered you and Momo-san because you kept interrupting their tea parties" Sogo said to the two older men. "Why not just discuss the matter instead.."

"Ah, sorry Tamaki-kun!" Ryuu apologized. "Maybe next time we come by we'll join your tea party. I'm sure Tenn wouldn't mind, right?"

"Gives him an excuse to see the Dormouse"

Sogo nudged Tamaki who simply nodded. "Yeah, just don't be so suspicious of every guest we have. It's annoying when you scare them off" 

The three agreed on the terms they came up with. Tamaki allowed them to come by anytime and even join their tea parties. While the trump soldiers wouldn't be so intimidating and scare off their guests. 

Gaku and Ryuu showed the two around before bringing them to the castle to meet Momo. The Black King sat up when he saw the four enter the throne room. He hadn't expected guests.

"What brings you here Mad Hatter? Is that our new visitor with you?"

"I'm here showing So-chan around, Gakkun and Ryuu-aniki showed us around your kingdom" Tamaki explained.

"That's nice of you three! Ah how's Darling doing? I've been meaning to meet up with him!" Momo asked, smiling brightly.

"Yukirin is fine, we celebrated his unbirthday yesterday"

Ryuu and Gaku looked confused at the mention of celebrating an 'unbirthday', while Momo laughed. "I hope he had fun! I'm sad I got to miss it though...Oh well, we can just have our own party to make up for it!"

Momo seemed so happy talking about getting to spend time with Yuki. They really must be on good terms if they talk so much about each others. 

When he asked about a way to get home, even they didn't know how. Hopefully Iori could get him home, after all it was him who got him here. 

The three looked to Tamaki who seemed upset by Sogo asking for a way home. It was obvious he didn't want him to go. But Sogo didn't appear to notice as he looked down in disappointment.

They watched Sogo leave the room, lost in thought. Ryuu walked over and pat Tamaki on the shoulder. "Why don't you tell him about how you want him to stay Tamaki-kun?"

"What's the point in doing that? He wants to go home anyways.."

"Yeah but you should at least talk to him about how you feel" Gaku said. "As well as comfort him"

Tamaki nodded before rushing after Sogo. Of course they were right, if he didn't talk to Sogo about his concerns now he probably never would. Or at least until it was too late.
