Chapter 1: Hot ice

Jiang Cheng and Wei WuXian have been in Gusu for a few days now.

Unlike in Yunmeng, there were strict rules for which Lan clan was so famous and harsh punishments for breaking these never-ending rules, which Wei WuXian,
who pursued the motto: Rules are there to be broken, still had to get used to.

But Lan Clan was not only known for its thousands of rules, but also for the good looks of the sons of the previous clan leader- the first born Lan XiChen and second born Lan WangJi.
And these didn't just seem to be rumors, Wei Ying could now confirm that. They (LXC & LWJ) were both two handsome young men, especially Lan WangJi had sparked the lively young man's (WWX) interest. Lan XiChen was also really handsome with his friendly smile, but Lan WangJi was almost hot with his cool look.

Wei WuXian loved teasing his brother that he must have been keeping an eye on the Clan leader, but he had to admit that he understood Jiang Cheng very well. The adoptive son of Jiang Clan often made fun of why so many woman raved about Lan WangJi and why they wished to marry him.

"I'd rather kill myself befor I have to spend the rest of my life with a block of ice", he joked.

He probably shouldn't have said that too loudly, because Lan WangJi kept watching the younger one and more was happening in his heart and mind than his cool expression showed.

"Brother", XiChen heard behind him befor turning to the voice.

"WangJi", the older one smiled as a sign that he was listening.

"My heart, it is always pounding so quickly when I look at Wei Ying's smile or when he looks into my eyes. I suspect that I'm in love with him", Lan WangJi said to his brother in deep confidence.

"Hm, love is something beautifull, but can be very painful. I have already noticed that you behave diffrently", no one else would have noticed this minimal change in body language and facial expressions of the younger one, but the Lan brothers studied each other and could always recognize whether the other person is currently doing well or badly.

Lan Zhan just closed bis eyes and nodded as usual.

Meanwhile, Jiang Cheng dragged his adoptive brother back to a quit place.

"Are you crazy?!", he asked angrily.

"Our sister will marry Jin ZiXuan very soon!" He continued to shout.

"I'd rather go than Yanli has to marry this... this... this peacock! You heard it yourself, he doesn't love her, so he doesn't deserve her!", Wei Ying still argued aggresively.

" Still, you don't have to fight right away, especially not here! You know that will have consequences, Wei WuXian!", without this rule in Cloud Recesses that private fighting was not allowed, Jiang Cheng would have hit Jin Zixuan in the face for his stupid statemen

"At least I defend our sister the way brothers should!", Wei WuXian was quit out of breath afterwards, first fighting with the future husband of his beloved sister and then arguing with his brother was quite exhausting because he didn't liked argue with his family at all, but if he had to protect them, he would fight like a lion would and he fellt great because he defended his sister.

Jiang Cheng just sighed.
He was right,
the family should be above every rule and not the other way around.

"Tch, go to sleep you little troublemaker", the one with the bright purple robe went past his brother and gave him a light slap on the back of his head.

After a few days Jiang FengMian had arrived in Gusu.

He heard of Jin Zixuan and Wei WuXian's argument and now he wanted to take his sons back to Yunmeng.

Wei Ying was very happy to hug his beloved sister, to enjoy the delicious dishes again, because Lan-Clan only ate vegetarian and Wei Ying just didn't like this vegetables-based food and it didn't fill him, to spend the night in his own bed
and especially not to have to follow all these rules, besides Lan Zhan finally no longer stared at him as if he killed someone.

As always, he had tried to make it as fun as possible, but it was often difficult with all these rules and it was always best at home.

Wei Ying triumphed when he heard that Yanli would no longer marry this peacock. So it was worth it to break the rules and get upset.

But only until his foster mother blamed him for everything. It made him sad, but he thought that he only wanted the best for his sister. His  siblings meant so much for him, wheter blood relatives or not, they were his family who had saved him from certain death when he was a child.

Of course, the other big clans also noticed that the wedding will no longer take place, including Lan-Clan.

Lan WangJi wanted the chance, he wanted Wei Ying to be his. If he was lucky, Jiang-Clan would give him the cheeky young man he coveted. After all Lan-Clan had good reputation.

"Uncle", the younger of the Lan brothers came into his uncle's room and sat in his knees in front of him.

"The alliances between Jiang-Clan and Jin-Clan have been narrowed down. I know it is not common, but I ask to be allowed to marry Wei Ying", he said all seriously.
