Chapter 8: The Mind Flayer (Part 1)

Back at the lab

Hopper was down on the lowest floor of the lab, where they would test for unknown things like the gate that was down there.

Unfortunately, Hopper saw on the other side of the glass, a weird dog like creature coming out of the open gap in the floor. It crawled up to the glass and looked at Hopper and the scientists, starting to growl loudly. "Mother of god" Owens said. Just then the creature started to ram up against the window, the window didn't even crack. "The glass is polycarbonate, it cant get through" Owens said. The creature then growled again, more and more came out of the gap and were now ramming into the glass. "You sure about that glass?" Hopper asked, seeing it starting to crack. Owens quickly pressed one of the buttons on the wall, sending off alarms throughout the lab.

Bob was trying to calm down Mike after he tried getting through the guards. Then they heard the alarms. "The hell?" Bob said. "We're too late!" Mike said, going back into the room with Bob where Joyce, Jonathan, and Will were. "Whats going on?" Jonathan asked. "We're under attack" Mike told them.

Everyone in the upper floors of the lab started going nuts. Guards were trying to get in contact with the scientists downstairs. But the scientists, Hopper, and Owens were already out of the room. They had sealed the door off as the creatures broke through the glass. Hopper and Owens used the stairs while the other scientists tried to use the elevator, but it was too late. The creatures broke through the door and caught up with them.

Mike grabbed a nearby syringe. "What are you doing?" Joyce asked. "We need to make Will go asleep. If he's awake, the shadow monster will know where we are" Mike said. "He's lying!" Will said in a rage type of way. "He killed those soldiers, he'll kill us too" Mike said. Will kept saying that Mike was lying until Joyce made him stop by asking him who she was. "You're....Mom" Will said. Joyce looked over at Bob and Jonathan. "Hold him down." Jonathan and Bob held Will down as Will shook around, trying to get out of their grasp. But Joyce put the syringe in Will's right arm, making him go to sleep.

Hopper and Owens came in. "We need to go" Hopper said as the door at the end of the hallway behind them was being broken down by the creatures. They all tried to escape by going through the hallways, but found themselves stuck in one of the hallways. At one end was a man getting torn open by one of the things, the other end was a guard shooting at the creatures with an M16 rifle. They all went into one of the nearby rooms and locked it.

"Oh my god" Bob said. The room they were in had security cameras, showing the creatures lurk around the lab, finding any survivors. Then the light shut off. The power had been cut off. Things were looking very grim. Only question left was....

Who would die next?

At Max's house

Billy was in his room, getting ready for a date that he had with a girl soon. He had his music playing in the room and had it up pretty loud, so he couldn't hear that his parents had arrived and entered the house. "Billy!? Open up!" Susan, his step mom called out to him. Billy glanced at the door, taking the cigarette away from his mouth. "I'm a little busy here, Susan!" Billy said. Immediately after saying this, he heard a voice he did not want to hear. "Billy, open the door! Right now!" Neil, his father, said. Billy sighed and put the cigarette out, opening the door to see the two.
