The new girl

First day of school after summer

Today is the first day after the summer holidays. I actually like school. I mean, I don't like to study, but I do like seeing my friends every day.
My brother, Stefan, knocks on my door. "Sarah!!! Wake up, you have to help me." "Ugh, I'm awake, Stefan. Come in." "So Sarah, should I wear my blue sweater with these pants?" My brother is gay. He cares a lot about the way he looks. He thinks my fashion taste is very good, so he always asks me what to wear.
'Hm, I actually think you should wear your green sweater today, that one looks good on you', I advise him.
"Okay, thanks!"
When I'm walking to school, I think about last night. Last night, my parents were fighting, again. It was a fight about who should have picked me up from the cinema. They both forgot, so I ended up walking home all alone.
Then I see Kate, my best friend.
"SARAAAHHH!! Ohhh my gosh, I've missed you sooo much!", she screams. "KATEEE!!!! Oh my goshh!" We give each other a hug, and we walk into our school together.
During my physics lesson, the teacher asks me to come with her for a minute. "Sarah, your mother called. She is standing in front of the school right now. I think you should go see het for a minute."
Shit... Okay, relax. It's probably another fight with my dad. "Uhm, okay.. I'll be right back I guess."
Maybe this time they are getting divorced. Or even worse, maybe someone died?! Why would my mom go to my school?! What is this???
My mom is in tears, oh my gosh.
"Mom... What happened??"
"Sweetie.. I tried to stop it, but.." She starts crying.
"Mom, tell me, please.." I try to hold my tears back.
"Your dad and I are in a very long fight. It's been going on for a few weeks right now." She stopped crying. "It's not a short fight about nothing, like we used to have. This fight is about something big."
Oh no.. They're not getting divorced right.. Please, please, please no divorce.
"Honey, we're moving. We're moving to the USA, to California."
