"This is weird. We're sitting in an American taxi, on our way to our "home". I mean, we haven't even seen pictures of the house we're going to live in," I say. "Honey, It's going to be lots of fun! You're gonna make so many new friends, and our house is so much bigger than in England."
This is so typically my dad, he always wants us to see the best in everything.
"Oooooh my gosh, it's our house!! It's HUGE!", my mom says. She's right. The house ís huge. When we walk into our house, we see that it's even bigger than we thought it would be. We all have our own room, and own bathrooms. There's also a pool outside, and a pool inside the house. Well, I can live with that!
Ringgggg! It's the door bell. I hear the voice of a lady, and she has such an American accent! "Sarah, will you come down for a second?", my mom says. I walk down the stairs, and say hi to the lady with the very American accent. "Hiiiii! My name is Isabelle, I live in the house next to yours. I have two children, they're twins. One of them is a boy, the other one is a girl. You guys should totally meet! Maybe today? Three o'clock at our house?"
She is a bit overwhelming, like, I don't even know her, or her children.. "Uuuhm, well..." "Of course she will, it would be nice for you, sweetie, right?" "Uh, okay mom.."
"You know what, Sarah? I'll join you. And your brother and your father will join us too!"
It's almost three o'clock. My family is making themselves ready to go to our new neighbours. I've already been done with my hair, make-up and outfit for an hour, so I'm watching Gossip Girl right now. "Sarah, where are you? We are leaving." "I'm right here, dad."
"Sarah, I'm nervous.." Stefan says. "Me too, they are probably so different from us..", I reply, glad that I'm not the only one who is nervous.
"Hiiiiiiiii!! How are you guuuuuys? Oh my gosh, we're soooo excited to meet you guys! So nice that you came over!" Oh my gosh. Are all American women like this? I mean, she seems nice, but we just met her, why is she acting like we are best friends? They show us their house, and it's even bigger than ours. "Stefan, Sarah, the twins are upstairs, you should go meet them!", Isabelle says.
We walk to the first floor, and go into their room. "Uhm.. Hi, my name is Sarah."
"Yeah.. And my name is Stefan."
"Hello.. My name is Laurie, and this is Leroy."
Then there was this awkward silence.. We both didn't know what to say. After a while, the ice broke, and we started chatting a bit, about school, age, England, parents and other stuff. Then, the subject love came up.
"So, have you guys ever had a relationship?", Laurie asked.
"Yes, I've had one serious relationship with this guy named Scott, but that relationship is over now.", I said.
"I've never had a relationship," Leroy told us.
"I've had two relationships, with a guy named Jeremy and another guy, Matthew. But how about you, Stefan?" "Well.. I've had two relationships..", Stefan said.
"So, tell us their names! We want to know, right Laurie?"
"Actually, I'm gay. Their names were Tom and Justin."
At first they looked surprised. They looked at each other, probably thinking that Stefan is weird. Oh gosh, I can't stand it when people think bad things about my brother.. What is happening to soci-...
"Oh, that's so nice for you, Stefan! Was it hard to tell people you are gay?"
"No, not really, the reactions I got were actually really sweet and everyone has been super supportive."
When we came home, we went straight to bed. We were just so tired of everything. Tomorrow school starts. Stefan and I both go to the same 'High School'. I will be in 11th grade, Stefan will be in 12th grade. I am so nervous. The twins were nice, but, of course, they don't go to our school, but to another one.
