Sneak Peek...
Gauri's POV
Ten years.
Ten years that how long it has been I didn't lay a foot into any shrine, not even my own home shrine that was just beside my own room.
Ten years, that's how long I distance my self from anything religion and god contrary to my mother believes.
Ten years, since my world had turn upside down. Now when I thought everything was normal it has turn upside down again, leaving me feeling helpless and vulnerable.
Ten years!
I had thought about yesterday and this morning again and again from every angle humanly possible but nothing, nothing makes sense. Except for the fact I got into a fight with four goons and won as thrilling and scary it was, how did I do it? I don't know. It only raises question and confusion with no answers. I don't even know who to seek answers from.
"Gauri?"
"Gauri?"
"Gauri?!"
Vrinda voice snaps me out of my thoughts, I shook my head and look at her.
"Where are you today?"She asks
"Here?" I answer before I realize it was a rhetorical question.
"What is gotten into you?" She looks half amused half wary.
"Nothing" As pick up the phase towards our history class. I don't know what should I tell her? No matter how desperately I want to tell her I can't. Just imagine telling her that a swastika symbol flew inside of me, me? This sound absurd even to me.
"Gauri, Gauri!" She called but I just went and settled into our seat, second raw third bench.
"Gauri, you know you can tell me anything, right?" I nodded in answered. I felt guilty for she sounds hurt but I can't lie to her and truth is too bizarre. I don't know what to do about it? Maybe I should forget about it? Yes, that it. Forget about it yesterday was weird and it is passed and what happened in the morning, whatever it was it can't be real, flying swastika symbol went thought me it happens only in movies, not in real life. I turn to Vrinda.
"I am fine, okay. I was just thinking about where I would find a dancer" I smile and reassure her.
"Oh....but I still don't get it why are you so worried about it. I told you can't find a dancer, you have only today now and beside you don't have to you know when you-" I cut her off.
"No, Viri no. I already told you this is not happing not even million years!"
"But-" Before she can protest anymore, Mrs Kaur, our history professor enters the class, drawing class full attention. She was a dummy woman with 4'9 hight, she was wearing green colour Punjabi salwar suite that made her oval body shape more prominent with her long braided tail. Irrespective how she looks she was an amazing history teacher. Vrinda gave me a look telling me this conversation is not over. Whatever.
"Alright, class today we-"
"May I enter Mam?" I heard a very familiar voice coming from a very familiar face as he enters the class when Mrs Kaur nod in permission. My head spins, for so much forgetting about whatever happened yesterday. But, how could it be? How?
This is some kind of joke.....
