"Here."
I thrusted my bag into Ale's arms, rubbing my sleepy eyes. 5:00 am was not an ideal time to wake up.
But the school's annual junior skiing trip was today, a weekend up in the alps with my friends away from this town, away from this drama, and away from Mattia was just what I needed, or at least to my knowledge he wasn't coming.
Alejandro shoved the bag into the bus compartment, stepping away to let the others put their bags. He took his place beside me, slinging his arm over my shoulders. "You excited?"
"Obviously. I've never been more excited for anything." I smiled, holding his hand, looking up at him.
"Yeah I mean, you, me, alone, cozy and warm cabin, a lot of things can ha-"
I slapped his chest, as his words cut off with a laugh. "I'm kidding! Im kidding."
"No you're not."
"Yeah not really no."
Rolling my eyes, I laughed, a blush creeping over my honey cheeks. Maybe this weekend I would let myself go. Just me, my wonderful boyfriend and some good friends. That's it. Just a drama free weekend and nothing to worry about.
I felt Alejandro's arm tense around my shoulders, a look of discomfort crossing his face. "What's wrong?" I asked.
The boy clenched his jaw, looking at the ground with a forced smile. "Don't look right. You'll be mad."
Don't tell me.
He was standing by the bus, his gym back slung over his broad shoulders. His long legs were clad in ripped blue jeans, outward as he leaned on his right leg, tapping away on his phone. A black t shirt hugged his torso, a simple fluffy sweater thrown over it.
"You have got to be kidding me." I groaned, burying my face in Alejandro's chest.
My mind flashed back to the night of the party.
Mattia stumbled into the house, tripping over the rug. "Jesus, look at him. He's so pathetic." Alejandro hissed, closing the door behind us. He turned the light on, rolling his eyes as Mattia groaned and squinted at the sudden brightness.
"I'm gonna go look for the first aid kit. Make sure he doesn't break anything please." He muttered, jogging off to the basement.
I turned my attention back to Mattia, who was laying on the carpet, facing the ground. Taking a seat next to him, I rubbed his back softly. "This is the second time I'm taking care of drunk you." I smiled, grinning at the old memory.
"Yeah yeah. Whatever." He grumbled in response, rolling his eyes. He paused for a moment, silence taking over the air.
"So. You and Alex, huh."
I smiled, giving him a nod. "Yeah I guess so."
The thought of Alejandro made my heart flutter, the feeling his hands encasing mine, his eyes watching my own, his lips on my lips, the emotions overwhelmed me, as I turned my attention back to Mattia.
"He's not who you think he is." Mattia began, as I looked at him, raising brow. "He acts so innocent all the time. But all he really wants is-"
"Got it." Ale spoke, coming in. He shot Mattia a threatening look, as the other boy sighed, sitting up. He had a distant sadness in his eyes, which was quickly replaced by his usual cheerfulness.
My heart felt weird, like there was something more, something more to the story I didn't know yet.
