The music was loud in my ears. flashing lights of pink and purple hitting me as I squeezed Alvaro's hand, walking into the busy gym.
"Looks like the whole school showed up." Kairi remarked, leading his girlfriend Jesse towards his left, away from the screaming kids.
My heels clicked forward, as we made our way further into the crowd. Most of the school was there, but the two boys on my mind were no where to be found.
Alvaro leaned in to my ear. "You wanna dance or something?" He spoke, as I tried to make out the scenery in the midst of the chaos.
The gym was set nicely, I didn't want to lie. There were silver streamers hanging from the ceilings, pink and gold decorations covering the rest of the room.
The faint smell of alcohol, sweat and pizza lingered in the air, making me scrunch up my nose. "Yeah, let's go."
He led me to the floor, a slow song switching on the speakers. His hands gingerly rested on my waist as I smiled up at him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
We danced for a bit, and for once I felt like I could breathe. These past days had been blurry and weird, my once normal life became interesting all because some stupid boy thought I was another girl.
Speaking of him, Mattia pushed through the crowd, a look of annoyance on his face as he shoved some freshmen to the side, ignoring the dirty look they gave.
"Alvaro, get out of here." He grumbled. Alvaro swallowed, about to argue, but something about the look in Mattia's eyes shut him up. "I need to talk to you." He said, watching Alvaro shuffle away.
He took his place, hands traveling to my waist as he pulled me close to him. "I'm sorry about yesterday. It wasn't your fault and I kinda overreacted. I should've just asked you what was wrong." Mattia mumbled, his lips near my ear.
The smell of his cologne wafted into my nose, as I breathed in, putting my hands on his chest. "It's okay, I would be mad too honestly,"
Mattia sighed, his eyes scanning everywhere but me. His gaze fell on the corner of the room, and I felt his grip tightening on my waist.
Looking back, I realized what he was looking at. Lexa was sitting by the far tables, shit faced drunk.
You could easily see it in the way she was acting, plus the water bottle in her hands sure didn't contain a brownish liquid for nothing.
That wasn't as crazy as what happened next. Alejandro was conveniently sitting next to her, talking.
Laughing at something he said, the two inched closer, as she laughed harder, her hand moving to his leg.
Of course Ale was going to react how any teenage boy would react. His hand somehow, found its way to her waist.
"Oh what the absolute fuck is going on over there." Mattia growled, his voice holding threat. "So it's going to be like that huh," He continued.
Turning to me, he took a deep breath, his hand on my cheek. Leaning in, my eyes widened. "Mattia- Hold on- wait- wha-"
I was nicely cut off by his lips pressing to mine, a feeling I would have loved in any situation except this one.
He kissed me, and I let him. It was wrong, but I couldn't stop it. I could feel myself falling into him, but of course, all good things come to an end. Mattia pulled away, looking above my head. The feeling of his hands on my waist left, as I looked back, wincing.
The look in Alejandro's eyes was indescribable, I could feel the anger pulsing off of him in waves. His jaw was clenched and his fists were balled, but he didn't move.
Instead, he turned, grabbing Lexa's hand, pulling her to her feet. He said something to her, as she looked at Mattia and I, and then back to Alejandro.
Nodding, she followed him, as he dragged her towards the exit.
"Oh fuck no!" Mattia exclaimed suddenly. He was about to run after them, but I held him back, shaking my head. "Stop, let them go. She started it, let her finish it." I murmured, as he hissed in anger, cursing.
"Are you fucking serious? That's my girlfriend, your best friend just left with."
"You just kissed me? Where was your girlfriend then?" I retorted, pushing him slightly.
"She was! She! Fuck!" He growled. Grabbing the bottle off the table, he uncapped it, taking a swig. Not flinching at the taste, he downed the rest of the bottle, tossing it to the side in fury.
He stumbled, the alcohol getting to his head. "Fuck." He hissed, grabbing the edge of the table for support. I grabbed his arm, helping him up.
"You can't drive yourself home like this. Ill drive. Let's go." I muttered, pulling him. My purse was still on the table, so I quickly grabbed it, before turning and bumping into someone.
"Hey! Izzy." Vic exclaimed, steadying herself. She brushed off her dress, before looking back up at me. "Have you seen Alejandro?"
"Like hell we did. He left with Lex. They're probably fucking in the car right no-" I slapped my hand over Mattia's mouth, wincing at the cloud of hurt crossing over Vic's eyes.
"What? He left with Lexa?" She said, her voice holding disbelief. "Yeah, I'm sorry, there was a situation, I can't really explain it that well but I have to get Mattia home. I'm so sorry Vic." I spoke quickly, dragging Mattia along.
What the fuck just happened.
