In Search for Unwanted Fear

Today, well... tonight I am going to look for the Slender Man for real. No dreaming, no imagining, no googling, I'm gonna grab my flashlight, and my notebook and look for him. Cameras seem like a bad idea, especially when you think of the game, the closer he gets, the camera gets messed up. That would scare me, and fear is something I don't want to have. I hope these 5 dreams have been enough. *Gulp* Perhaps I should pack some more things, just in case.

~O~O~O~O~ One hour later ~O~O~O~O~

Okay, so I've just packed a tent and enough things to go camping. Luckily I don't need to make a campfire, it's warm outside.

~O~O~O~ Upon arrival and after setting camp ~O~O~O~

My journey has begun and I've just set up camp, I got a lantern so I can see and write everything down. There's no sight or feelings that show that he's around. I don't feel like I'm being watched, there's no fog and my heartbeat is okay... maybe a tad fast. Why am I scared? Oh yeah, he pops out of nowhere. But after I see him, I'm alright. Girl, the Slender game isn't the same as reality.

I sat inside my tent, the lantern beside my inflatable mattress while I played Sudoku on my phone.

"And a 5 goes here, which means here goes the 3 and 7 aaaaand done." I say out loud as I finish the puzzle.

Suddenly there's a heavy weight on my chest even though I'm laying on my back. My breathing  becomes difficult, so I sit up and look outside.

"He must be close." I say excited and scared.

I step outside with my lantern, my hand shaking.

"Slender?! I-I-I know you're nearby! Please don't scare me." I whisper those last words to myself

I hear leaves rustle behind me, I turn around quickly. My hands shake even more. I look at the ground. Oh damn, just a freakin' iguana. It scared the bejesus out of me,

The hairs behind my neck stand on end. My eyes widen. I know, I just know he's right behind me.

"Slender... I know you're there. I know you're right behind me."

I close my eyes tightly and slowly turn around. As I reach a full 180 degree turn I slowly open my eyes little by little until I can see a tall man in a suit. And there I look up, my heart banging against my chest, I bet he can hear it. Before I can reach his face, he kneels down and I squint my eyes closed again.

"Don't be scared." I hear his voice in my head.

"I feel awful, I'm terrified."

I feel his hand on mine. There I fully opened my eyes, still feeling quite uneasy.

"It's alright. We've spoken before, haven't we? This is why I visited you in your dreams."

I felt better there, still scared though.

"Ummm, sit." I said pointing to a large boulder.

He stood up and took a single step to the rock, it took me a few more tiny steps to reach him. I sat there next to him just staring. I was freaking out... more like freaking in. (Yes, I took that from Kung Fu Panda 2)

He chuckled, out of the blank.

"Be here by tomorrow night. I will return and hopefully you will be less frightened." He said

"Uh huh."

He stood up and was about to leave.

"Wait! How will I know this isn't a dream? Let me have something that proves this happened."

He walked towards me and handed me a small fabric bag.

"Have these, they will keep you safe and prove this isn't a dream."

I looked at him and smiled as a thank you. Then opened the bag and saw 3 small stones, an onix, an amethyst and one which name I cannot remember, an orange one.

"What's this one..." he was gone "...called?" He had left mid sentence.

I held the little rocks tightly in my hand.

"I shall be ready tomorrow night, I promise."
