"Sis! Let's go! I got everything packed in the car already!" I yell to my sister
It's Sunday noon and I have to get back to my dorm, then on Monday I'll tell my friends about all the encounters up till now.
"I'm coming, I'm coming." She says running to the car
On our way to my dorm, which is a 40 minute trip, as soon as we leave the house, she begins to ask questions I'm eager to answer, yet know she won't believe me.
"So what's up with all the camping trips on the weekend?" She asks
"If I tell you, you won't believe me."
"Try me."
"I've been meeting up with the Slender Man."
"Oh come on, you're not expecting me to believe that, are you?"
"See? I told you that you wouldn't believe me."
"Okay, if this Slender Man is so real, where's your proof?"
"Hmmm." I thought for a moment, and then remembered the bullet wound.
I hope she doesn't freak out completely.
"Last night there were these gangsters nearby and Slender and I went to take a look, and they started shooting like mad and a bullet got me..."
I was interrupted by a sudden stop and the screeching of the tires.
"You got shot?!" Yup, she freaked
"But I'm okay! He took out the bullet and healed me; look." I pulled down my sleeve so she could see the light scar left behind.
"Oh come on, a bullet wound doesn't just get healed like that."
"I swear! Oh and the night you heard me arrive really late, his Slender instincts made him go berserk and he grabbed my arm with his tentacles and it was insane!"
I lifted my long sleeve up to my shoulder to see if there was a light mark left, but I doubt it, I mean it was more than a week ago, but what I saw was totally unexpected.
"Sharpie, really?" My sister said looking at the black mark.
My eyes widened, just where James had gripped me it had turned pitch black, like tar on my arm. I was frozen still. What the hell had made it go like that?! It was not like that this morning.
"When we get to your dorm, I'm gonna wipe that off."
I laid back and kept quiet, confused at what had happened on my arm.
When we finally arrived, I unpacked my things and when I was going to hug my sister goodbye, she stopped me.
"Oh no you don't, first clean that thing off your arm." She said like an overprotective mother grabbing soap and a paper towel.
She rubbed it on my arm a bit too hard.
"OW! You're gonna scratch my skin off!"
"What did you put on your arm?" She said showing me the clean towel.
Not a single bit of whatever that was had come off.
"I told you! It was the Slender Man!"
"Enough with that bullshit! Come on sis! We've always been here for each other; why don't you trust me now?!"
"But I am telling you the truth!"
She left the dorm, slamming the door behind her.
The next day, after class I went to my friends. Hopefully they would be a little less skeptic about it.
"Hey guys!"
"What's up Solash?" Said Tony
"Some really messed up shit."
"Why? What happened?" Asked Sihara
"You might not believe me, but Slender Man is real."
"I knew it! I knew it! Prove it." Said Johnny
I lifted my sleeve, showing my black arm.
"He did that."
"How the fuck?!" Asked Tony
"I went camping, like 3 times. On the first night, I saw him and I was like 'dude I can't believe he's real' so he gave me some shiny rocks. The second time he went all crazy and psycho and he grabbed me right here, where it's all black, with a tentacle and I escaped. Then, last night, some gangsters were snooping around and he scared 'em away, but I got shot."
"Were they voodoo gangsters?" Asked Johnny
I laughed.
"I thought of it at the moment, but no."
"If you got shot, why are you here?" Asked Tony
"It was just on the shoulder, and he healed it."
I showed them my marked shoulder.
"That definitely is a healed bullet wound. I've seen them before." Said Sihara
"Well, if Slender is real, why don't we go get him?" Said Johnny
"One does not simply capture the Slender Man." Said Tony
"Not capture, just like see him."
"Thank you Sihara, that's what I meant."
"Well, at what time do you guys have class on Wednesday?" I asked
"In the afternoon."
"Yeah, us too."
"Well, tomorrow we bring our camping stuff and we'll camp in the forest that's nearby." I said
"Oh you mean the one that's about a mile after the mall?" Asked Sihara
"Yeah! We can buy stuff if we need to." Added Johnny
"Alright! It's settled. Bring your biggest flashlights with batteries to spare. Now I'll be right back, I need to grab some lunch."
"Wait for us, we're gonna eat too."
We all walked to the Cafeteria and got in line. I wonder what's for lunch today. Then, some asshole just pushed me and cut line in front of me. I poked him in the shoulder.
"Hey, the line starts back there." I said pointing behind us
The guy looked away, not giving a fuck. I grabbed him by the shoulder and turned him around.
"Back of the line, we got here first!" I was getting pissed
"Don't touch me you satanic freak!" He pushed my hand off
I may be goth, but one of the things that enrages me the most is when someone calls me satanic, when I clearly know I'm not. I pushed him against the wall.
"Take that back, and go to the end of the damn line." My voice sounded creepy, almost like a growl.
The guy got pale and just went to the end of the line.
"What the fuck was that?" Asked Tony a bit alarmed
"That asshole cut in line, I wasn't gonna let him just stay there."
"Yeah, but you went all psycho on him." Said Johnny
"I have a short temper." I said, still glaring a bit at the idiot
"Ooh, chicken!" Said Sihara, completely ignoring what had happened.
We all looked at her.
"What? They got chicken today."
We all laughed, I wasn't pissed anymore. We got our food, had lunch and planned for our little camping trip. I hope all goes well, and I hope James can control his Slender instincts.
