I love you
I love you when you flash that bright smile of yours
and laugh your contagious laugh
and I just love you when you're you

I loved you
I loved you when I thought I knew you
when I thought you cared,
not only about me,
but about yourself

I loathe you
I loathe you now when you whisper
your lies into my ear
as your breath smells of whiskey

I loathe you
for allowing me
to fall so hard for a boy
we both know isn't there.
Maybe he once was,
when we first met,
and maybe that's when it was truly meant to be,
but maybe true love is only true of beginnings,
not this, now,
so tell me,
did you drink enough to rid yourself of all of the memories of us?
