Kino's Point Of View (POV)
A man in black held my father in a headlock with the palms of their hands on his face.
"No! Please don't, please don't take him away from me," I shouted as I ran towards them.
Suddenly, fire surrounded the man in black hands and he burnt off my father's head. I screamed in pain as I embraced my father.
"NOOOO! WHY!!!" I screamed out, as tears escaped my pupils and started streaming down.
My vision went pitch black, and I was back at my house. I arose from the couch and yawned from the bad night's sleep.
"Hraaaaaaaaarrhh, guess I'm having those nightmares again," I yawned out as I gently put my hand on my mouth but without realising, tears dripped down my face.
I walked into the kitchen to find that Sergio made breakfast already. He must have left earlier, so I quickly ate the eggs and bacon he prepared and got ready for school. I quickly put on my shoes and ran out the door.
"Good thing the house door closed after it opened and locked itself," I thought to myself as I ran to catch the bus. I reached in time but at the cost of being drenched in sweat. I walked up the bus and seemed to be the center of attention.
"That's the new transfer student," a girl murmured out to her friend.
Her friend responded with, "I heard he haven't unlocked an element yet! What a weirdo."
"WHAT? But isn't he a sophomore?" she asked.
"Yeah, It's true, I heard he's unlocking it today with the freshman, I wonder what he'll get." her friend whispered to her.
"Let's hope it isn't good cause that would be a good way to rack in points!" She said with a gleaming expression.
They probably thought I couldn't hear them, but the whole bus could. I sat at the back and enjoyed the ride to school. As I walked on campus, the useless attention began again but I couldn't quite make out what they said. In the main yard, there was a military tent with a lot of students gathering around it. I went towards it and I overheard someone declared it was where the freshman would get the pills.
The bell rang and the crowd quickly dispersed into the main hall. I guess there was a general assembly today, so I followed the crowd. I sat to the far back when suddenly the girl from last night passed by followed by a wave of girls soon after. They filled the hall with noise when suddenly,
"Quiet down, I repeat please quiet down students," A teacher said on the mic in a serious tone. The students settled down, and she continued, "Thank you, I now hand you to headmistress, Mrs. Diana."
"Yes, I won't keep you here too long, kids. So today the freshman and a senior will unlock their element," she said. The students cut her off by the time she said a senior would unlock their element, though it has happened before it was uncommon in a small town like this. "Okay, I know everyone knows this but I will say it for the freshman, You can challenge a senior student, they can't deny and if you win, you can gain some serious points. To be precise you would earn TRIPLE what you get normally!" she stated.
"YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!" shouted the freshman in excitement. I think they all had an idea to fight me since I was technically still a senior to them.
