Kino's Point Of View (POV)

After the battle, the day went by quickly. I missed most of the classes because of the exploration I did in school. Being back here felt bittersweet, but even I can't lie to myself with such beautiful scenery. The school's structure was built beautifully and brought appeal and atmosphere, that's what naïve people in the world would say, but for me, this school resembled suffering incarnate forcing us to fight each other for some ranking. The colors used were red, which represented the bloody path we elementals must take and white, which represented that everyone is equal whether their elements vary.

I exhaled and thought to myself, "I don't want to go home early, I'll go visit my old spot in the mountains."

Slowly and surely I walked up the mountains noticing the environment. The once small, nearly blooming trees now stood proud and tall, dancing their branches to the rhythm of the peaceful mountain breeze. It now covered the path in lush bushes and insects taking refuge from the harsh world.

"I pity them, having a place to call home even after their trials in life," I said to myself in a soft tone.

The air now became filled with the howls of the wolves crying for their lost brethren but praying for them to watch over the pack as each fight together.

"If only humans thought like that and appreciated life, maybe we would have been able to relate to these creatures bu—but man is just too pitiful and all we do is cause suffering," I said to myself whilst I looked up at the sky turning golden.

I did not realize that the time I had quickly went by. The bushes seemed to get thicker and lusher with fruits every step I took. As I took my last step to reach my spot, I suddenly tripped on a round, greyish rock. Why now, I thought to myself as I fell face front into the ground.

"Ugh, man, if I didn't go through that one-on-one training with my annoying big brother I would have felt that," I said out without loud without realizing someone was there. I looked up and there she was, an average bean that knew about my special spot.

She had soft amber, long hair blocking the face of a hidden gem. She turned her face towards me which revealed her round, maroon eyes. Her light skin complexion went perfectly with her curves and beauty.

"Well, what do you want? You're the new kid right, how do you know about my spot?" She said with her gentle voice. She tried to make her voice serious but failed miserably.

"Ugh, one question at a time. You're the one in the wrong here, this has been my spot since I was a kid... so if you don't mind leave right now. I'd like to enjoy my shallow existence," I said while walking to the edge of the cliff-side.

She looked at me discerningly and continued to babble her mouth. We sat quietly looking over the cliff which revealed lots of houses covered by the lush and beautiful environment. The silence was suddenly broke when she asked me my name.

"So--- What's your name?" she questioned me.

"Is this an interview or something," I responded humorously but followed up by saying "My name is Kino Taiyo, what's yours?"

"My name? Hmm let me think, It's Amber Rose", she said with a wide grin on her face as if she was mocking me.

"Well, bye Kino I have to get home now", She then got up and ran off into the bushes and vanished a few seconds later.

I stayed there for a few moments trying to connect my mind with someone, no, not quite someone but something. I never knew my mother but ever since my father died I felt a sudden warmth in my darkness.

I sighed, got up and left my spot to head home. The moon was glistering its serene light towards the Earth, giving me a sense of purpose to find the one responsible for my father's death but it also gave me a sense of protection, that both my mother and father are watching me.

"I'm sorry I turned out to be a disappointment, dad I promise I will find a way back to the light," I said looking up at the full moon.

The dirt from the ground was all over the bottom of my pants. I brushed it off with my hands and walked back toward my old house.

It took me some moments, but I soon reached our old home where we were now staying. It left a bittersweet feeling in my mouth as I opened the door. From the outside, the house looked gorgeous. They built it with brownstones with walnut wood decorations. It had large, octagon windows that allowed enough light to enter.

The generous living room greeted me as I walked into the house and to the side an old-fashioned kitchen. Remembering it also had four bedrooms, a spacious study, an old-fashioned dining room, and a medium-sized basement brought tears to my eyes, for all I saw was my father. It shaped the building like a squared S with two extensions extended into a patio circling half the house.

The second floor was smaller than the first if I remembered correctly, which allowed for a roof garden on one side of the house. Both floors followed the same style. I could remember when my father invited all my friends over for a garden party. I was furious because he didn't tell me beforehand as I normally went on the garden with nothing but my towel around my body. I was so embarrassed.

The roof is flat and covered with black roof tiles, with a small chimney poking out of the center. The paved ground surrounded the house, with a small pond at one side and various potted plants all around the house.

Our house shunned and stood proudly in the town because of its beauty and appeal it brought, but for me, it brought memories I closed off the day I left. I thought my brother was waiting for me but it turned out he was out, as usual. 'doesn't he have a wife?'I thought to myself as I lunged my self forward, towards the couch. I threw my bag on the floor and tears started dripping out my eyes. My mind was at peace but deep down my heart was still suffering, maybe, the tears were a call for help.

I slowly drifted away into my sleep when suddenly I heard a voice, "Rest easy, my child, for you, have the blessings of a source"

I tried to bring myself back to consciousness, but that voice made me feel at peace. It made me want to rest and so I did. I fell asleep knowing that just maybe, I could find a way back to the light.

Sergio's Point of View (POV)

I walked into a cold, uneasy abandoned building that looked over twenty years old.

"You have arrived. Finally, I thought I would have to use more methods to get you here," blurted out by a mysterious voice.

Sergio stood there with nothing but anger and rage for the individual. He growled and shouted, "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT!"

"Why, me? I want nothing but I have no appeal to tell a traitor what our master, the one you tried to kill now desires," said the mysterious voice.

Shocked by the man's words, he fell to the ground knowing that Mr. U survived the last attack he tried before they murdered his father. He gritted his teeth, trying to hold back his tears and frustration.

"HA HA HA HA! How do you feel now Sergio, The Shadow. Are you angry? Frustrated? Or maybe depressed now?" said the mysterious voice loud and taunting.

The mysterious voice suddenly vanished, leaving Sergio dumfounded on the ground in pain.

"Why? Why? Why me?", Sergio kept asking himself repeatedly. Unable to hold back his tears, they slowly fell upon his face, gleaming in the moonlight that passed through the old building. Being defeated by words, he made his way back home while trying to rethink and bring back his will to fight. Unsure if Kino was awake or not, he did not want his precious little brother to see him in pain, so he entered through the roof. Using his Moon element which allowed him to move quickly in the shadows.

He entered his room and closed the door behind him. With his back facing the door, he slumped down slowly, putting his hands on his face and crying quietly in frustration.
