Kino's Point Of View (POV)

Gazes.. Stares... They just glared me down as I strode out of the tent.

"Hey.. Senior, can't wait for that fight!" someone exclaimed ending in laughter from most of the Freshman.

"God damn you all, you don't know me... I'll show you all... Stop disrespecting my family, you don't kn— know what we've been through..." I stammered to myself as I walked off to the far corner.

There was a small, round pebble just the size for me to sit on. But before I even sat, the idolized fire element came up to me.

"Hey there, my name is Rojan, Rojan the Third, son of the president of Rojan Industries. I was wondering if you would do me the pleasure of dueling in today's match." he said whilst he smirked. He lifted his hands towards me, right into my face, then open his fists for a handshake.

"Wow, Rojan is so cool!"

"He goes for the weak one. Clever and powerful, damn him!"

He received praise after praise. That praise began to annoy me. The more he got praised, the more I wanted to wash that smirk out his face. If he experienced what I had to go through, he wouldn't be able to smirk so freely.

I filled the tent with a loud smack as I slapped his hands away from my face.

"Don't you dare underestimate me, freshman! I could take you down without even using an element!" I said to him as I walked off.

"Why you- piece of sh--!"

The teachers cut him off before he finished an overused term. They sent us to the arena and from there they would put us against seniors, but for me, I would have to fight one of another Junior.

Based on my stamina, from taking that pill I could fight two matches going all out but I should reserve as much strength as possible. I had two opponents I could choose from;

A Junior in class 3-B, ranking eighty-fifth overall and in her class her ranking is fifteenth. She specializes in Earth Element. If I defeated her, my ranking would boost up at least thirty spots.

Or I could risk it and fight someone from 3-A, my class. I could fight fifth place since I already knows his magic type.

A teacher interrupted my thinking as she walked up in the middle of the field followed by two students.

"In the first match, we have Junior from class 3-C, Ajani verses Freshman from class 1-A, Nozaka!", she shouted and then she followed up by saying, "If you wish to dual with someone, and you have just awoken your element they must fight! Come down to the sign-in section and insert their name!"

Many of the younger students arose from their sits and walked to the sign-up section. If I waited for the last minute all the freshman would fill the spots, so I ran towards the section while taking a shortcut I figured out. I reached before anyone and inserted myself to go against Sid Reynolds, the fifth place person in my class.

I passed by a lot of students on my way back, each rushed and stared me down but I only had to go against one and I could bet it would be against that guy from earlier.
