Alright, I've had this in my camera roll for a long ass time so let's analyze it because I haven't been active in a whole month, basically (I'm so sorry, I had exams and back to back debate tournaments, but now all of that's over and I'm off for 2 weeks, so I can update more now!).

Okay so in the article, which is obviously not in English, a reporter who is presumably from Norway asks Louis if he is single or not. He simply responded with an equivalent of "it's complicated."

I have 3 theories for this, one from a Larry POV, and one from an Elounor POV, and one from Management's POV.

1. So this is probably the most obvious, but from a Larry POV, this response is Louis' way of covering up Larry while also giving something to Larries. Like, "oh yeah I have to keep it a secret because I'm obviously dating a bandmate but let's keep people guessing," you know? Simple enough.

2. From an Elounor shipper perspective, this could be a little bit of Louis admittedly saying that he IS in a relationship (with E) but also keeping it under wraps, because he doesn't wanna exploit her. It's kind of a lame explanation, and the least likely.

3. This, IMO, is the most probable. Management could be forcing Louis to say that he's in a relationship but also not in order to either hide Larry or get them more publicity as a band. I mean come on, whenever a celebrity even hints as to having a s/o, the media goes crazy. Articles and videos are made, it's just bonus publicity. And because this article is probably a bit dated, 1D might not have been tOO famous at the time, so what better way to get publicity than exposing the boys and their relationships?
