Ivy raced through the woods at speeds she hadn't thought were even possible. Her hair whipped through the wind and her legs carried her without even feeling it. Was this what vampires felt like all the time? She continued running, searching for the clearing where she fought the pale boy. She skid to a stop by the twisted oak and shouted, "I know you're here! I know what you are!" She was met with complete silence that only added to her pot of mixed emotions.
Suddenly there was a rustle in a bush behind her and then a twig snapped to her left. She knew he was here. "Quit fucking with me and explain something." Ivy stood there for a minute, waiting for a response.
She turned slowly looking for any sign of him when she saw a pair of black Vans dangling out in a nearby tree. "I know you're here."
He jumped down and gave her a playful look. "Aww you're no fun."
She looked at him with anger in her eyes. "How dare you." she said in a cold and angry tone.
"How dare I what? I was just enjoying the evening and then you showed up and attacked me. Why did you even come here- just to yell at me for whatever you're pissy about?" ee said becoming serious with Ivy.
"Don't act like you don't know. You turned me into- into... I'm changing and I don't know what's happening to me! And if that weren't enough, my family thinks I'm a mons-"
He put his hand over her mouth and held her still. Ivy struggled but the boy was too strong, even for her. He seemed to be listening intently and staring into the darkness. Suddenly in a split second he bolted into the forest, dragging Ivy by the wrist. "Hey where are we going?"
"Shhh!" he scolded.
The two sped through an unknown field into a smaller forest Ivy had never seen before. After twisting threw dead trees and over overgrown roots they reached a huge light green Victorian style house.
"Whoa, why di-"
"Just get inside!" he yelled, throwing open the curvy black door and locking it twice when they were both in.
Once inside Ivy was absolutely stunned. The huge living room had plenty of vintage couches and chairs around a roaring fire. There were tons of paintings and old portraits lining the walls that continued down a long hall with dark red carpets that matched the room they were in. Everything was old and beautiful and she loved absolutely everything about it.
Ivy turned to the boy. "Is this your house?" she asked curiously.
"No, it's mine." said an unknown woman behind her. Ivy tuned to see a girl not much older than her with brilliant, scarlet eyes and wavy, auburn hair that went down to her waist. She was wearing a black tee shirt with a light pink infinity scarf, dark skinny jeans and matching light pink Converse.
"Who's your new lady friend Andrew?" So that was his name. The woman walked over to Ivy and began to circle. Ivy looked over to Andrew. His face was completely still. The mystery woman gasped when she saw the Marlowe crest on Ivy's jacket.
The woman backed away and whipped around to face Ivy. "Who are you? Who are your parents?" she questioned, her eyes boring into Ivy.
"Kat, she-" Andy started, but Kat cut him off.
"No, I want to hear it from the Marlowe girl." she snapped at him.
"My name is Ivy Marlowe and I'm the only daughter of Vincent and Robin Marlowe. I'm the only Marlowe of this generation."
"Than why are you here? Are you leading them to us?"
"No no, Andy brought me here becu-"
"What?" she whipped around to face Andy, an angry expression on her face. "Care to elaborate Andrew?" she asked, trying to level her voice.
"It's not what you think Katerina. Look," he said, pulling Ivy's jacket collar to reveal her bite marks, "She's one of us." Katerina's face was in complete shock as she sank onto one of the couches.
"Kat what's wrong?" Andy asked. She was silent for a moment then faced Ivy and Andy with a completely perplexed face.
"Uhm Andy, take her to a empty room and uh-" she turned to face Ivy and said, "Stay there till I come get you."
Andy led Ivy down a long hallway to an incredibly tall staircase. On the second floor was an endless amount of plain wooden doors and dark red carpets that matched the ones downstairs. Twisting and turning down more halls he showed her to an empty room. In it were a matching dark oak dresser, vanity, closet door and four poster bed with plain grey bedding and a sheer black canopy. The tall windows had thick black curtains that blocked out every ray of moonlight.
Ivy turned to face Andy as he stood in the doorway with a confused look on his face."What's wrong? What's going to happen to me?" He didn't answer her right away, silently lost in thought.
"Honestly? I don't know." he said, leaving and locking the door behind him.
