Ivy was completely overwhelmed and her feelings decided to surface themselves as she sat on an unknown bed in a mysterious house.
She was sick because her body was changing and confused for the same reason. Sad because her family didn't want her and she could never return to them. Angry because her life had been turned upside down and there was nothing she could do about it. Anxious because a boy and girl she had just meet were deciding what to do with her. Oddly nervous whenever she was around Andy out of fear and something else. And trapped because she physically couldn't leave the room she was in.
Her mind was going a mile a minute and she decided to explore the room to get her mind off it. The big oak dresser had five drawers: the first two had girly underwear in one and boxers in the other, the third drawer had plain white socks at different lengths, and the last two were empty. Next Ivy checked the long vanity drawer and found basic eyeliner, mascara, boring brown eyeshadow colors, and a single tube of red lipstick. The bedside nightstand had a short glass for water, a digital alarm clock, and a case for glasses.
Finally, the last thing Ivy checked was the closet. When she opened it, she flicked on the light to reveal a long walk in closet. She looked through the clothes and discovered that there wasn't much to chose from. There were plain black and white tee shirts, tank tops & long sleeve shirts. There were also mens and womens blue jeans and jean shorts. And tons of the same pair of black running shoes in different sizes. After a little more digging Ivy also found gray pajama pants and girls pajama shorts, along with 2 dark grey hoodies.
All the clothes were dull but at least she had some. It seemed like Kat or whoever bought things for this place had stocked all the extra rooms with the same basic things. Ivy changed into a pair of gray pajama shorts and a white tank top. She climbed into bed, trying to sleep. After a while she checked the clock 11:52. She couldn't sleep if her life depended on it.
Ivy went to the closet and grabbed a black long sleeve shirt and a pair of jean shorts, bringing them into the room. She then went to her leather jacket and pulled a small hunting knife out of the inside pocket. She went to work and when Ivy was done with the cutting she had a whole new outfit. She made cute cut off short shorts and slits in the back of the long sleeve that resembled a rib cage along with slits on the arms to reveal her shoulders. She was still wearing her hair in a ponytail that had become messy from running around.
She pulled it out and ran her fingers threw her hair, admiring her handy work. All of a sudden, she heard a click and the door swung open. Katerina was standing at the door, silently staring at her.
"I'm sorry about the mess and the clothes. I should have asked before destroying things that don't belong to me." Ivy said, immediately feeling guilty.
"No it's not a problem. There are tons of these exact clothes in other empty rooms. Besides, all the stuff in these closets are painfully boring." Kat said, happily shrugging it off. "Now, follow me to the library." she said with a face that was impossible to read.
Ivy followed Kat down the labyrinth of red carpeted hallways. She noticed that all the windows were covered in heavy black curtains, just like in her bedroom.
The two arrived at a tall double door and Kat lead her inside. All four walls were completely lined with bookcases that were stuffed with every book imaginable. There were tall ladders to reach books on the top shelves and black loveseats with white pinstripes lined the room. They reminded Ivy of Jack Skellington's suit. The only other person in the room waiting for them was Andy, which made Ivy extremely nervous.
Kat sat down on a loveseat next to Andy and when he went to put his arm around her, she gave him an angry look. Andy sank back into the couch and crossed his arms.
"Well Ivy I've decided to let you stay here as long as you like so long as you don't contact the Marlowes." Kat said, looking at Ivy. Ivy's face lit up and she smiled back.
"Thank you so much!" She looked over at Andy, who still had his arms crossed, and noticed he was holding back a smile. He got up and turned to Kat.
"That's great. I'll be in my room if you need me babe." He leaned in to kiss Kat but she turned away and Andy quickly left the room.
Ivy felt really awkward and just stood there, wondering what to say.
"I'm sorry about that. Andy and I haven't been doing too well lately." Kat said, a sad look on her face.
"I'm sorry to hear it. What's wrong?"
"He wanted to mate with me but I'm not ready for that." Ivy looked at Kat with a little confused look.
"Ready for what exactly?" Kat matched her expression to Ivy's and stared at her for a second.
"You hunted vampires but how much do you really know about us?"
