Once more the class erupted not with questions, not with disgust, with amazement and compliments. Shinso started to blush and sunk into his seat trying to sink out of existence. He glanced to see his friends smirking and grinning at him. He smiled back at them and sat down properly. The students had continued the introductions Izuku found out that the split haired boy was named Todoroki Shoto and his quirk was half hot, half cold but that was all he stated. Izuku decided that he would become friends with the man of few words. He tried making conversation as the students conversed until the next class. The boy had been reading a book Izuku had picked at the title and found it interesting.
"What's that about?"
Izuku asked. Shoto glanced up and slammed the book closed, putting it away.
"Nothing interesting."
He replied coldly. Izuku had only gotten more interested. Questions had zoomed through his head.
"Then why are you reading it?"
The boy stayed quiet wondering how he should reply as he expected the boy to leave by then.
"Someone recommended it to me. I found it rude to not finish it as I already purchased the book."
Izuku eyes lit up at the complex excuse but the winged boy always found it easy to tell when people lied. This boy is lying. Izuku smiled.
"Who recommended it?"
"My sister."
He answered quickly like he was ready. Izuku had counted this as a declaration of war.
"Is that so? Are you so close as to take her recommendation seriously?"
"Yes, you could say I am closer to her then I am with my father."
He spat out the last words with disgust, of course, Izuku had his interest picked. Before he could continue Shinso and Katsuki had dragged the boy away.
"Sorry about him he doesn't know when to stop talking."
Shinso added as they left to their desk they sat Izuku as they lectured him. Todoroki had watched them and had made eye contact with the green-haired boy. Izuku waved at him with a small smile. Shoto had looked away confused as to why this person continued to try to talk to him. With that whenever Izuku could he tried to talk to Todoroki during the morning and whenever he did within a few minutes he would be dragged away by ether Bakugo, Shinso or Denki and Kirishima who had been instructed to make sure he doesn't cross the line. The conversations he did get to start were all mediocre things like favourite colour or favourite animal like that. Shoto had given thought that maybe the boy was trying to befriend him. He shrugged the thought away as a matter of trying to get close to him because of who his father was.
During a break after math class, Shoto had walked over to Izuku. He asked if they could talk in private Izuku nodded his head violently and followed the other. He passed his friends who were confused Izuku had stuck his tongue out trying to get back at them. The two had been standing at the staircase for a minute before Shoto spoke.
"I'm not here to make friends. So stop bothering me."
Izuku had given it a second before giggling. Shoto looked stunned.
"Then how about we become comrades? Every hero needs help at times be it from other heroes or sidekicks."
Izuku had his hand extended for a handshake. Shoto had just stood there he looked up with a glare and slapped the boy's hand away.
"You're just trying to be friends with me because of my father!"
He raised his voice he himself was shocked by this. Izuku had given it a second with a confused expression he had a serious thinking face and just spoke up after a minute.
"Have I met your father or something?"
Shoto froze and stuttered out what.
"Well, I just can't remember knowing another Todoroki."
"Then how about Endeavour?"
He asked trying to calm down.
"Who is that?"
Shoto knew the boy wasn't lying as he had gotten used to being lied to by adults and was confident in his intuition. He also suspected the boy to be the type to only lie when needed as this moment Izuku had been seriously trying to remember someone by the name of Todoroki or Endeavour. Shoto started to laugh Izuku gave him a cute confused face innocent like a child. He stuttered out a sentence between laughs.
"My father is the number two hero and you don't even know him... do you know who All Might is?"
Izuku nodded and stated it was the number one hero, Shoto burst out laughing eyes tearing up hands on his stomach.
"Imagine if he found out! Haha! That someone didn't know who he is!"
Izuku smiled as he watched the boy show different expressions then he did until now and that expression was one that was happy. Izuku bent down and looked at the boy who had leaned forward laughing. His eyes grew as the boy had made eye contact with him like he realized he had been laughing the whole time. He tried to calm himself and stand up straight. Izuku extended his hand out as he rested his head on his knees.
"Can we be friends?"
Shoto let a smile slip he grabbed the hand and pulled the boy up.
"Sure."
Izuku smiled grow into a grin. He pulled Shoto to the class and took a deep breath as he opened the door.
"Todoroki and I are now friends so stop getting in the way!"
He yelled scaring the class. Shinso and Katsuki started to laugh as Kaminari and Kirishima had given them what now look. Izuku turned to Shoto who had been confused by everything.
"Wanna eat lunch with my friends and me?"
"S-sure."
A whistle was heard Izuku found that the source of it was his friend Shinso.
"Deja-vu is strong within me."
"Same"
Katsuki added. Izuku stomped to them with a grumpy face. He started to yell at them he had left Shoto at the entrance who had simply been left in shook. On the other side of the room, the door opened to reveal a buffed yellow-haired man yelling.
"I am coming in like a normal person!"
Izuku tried his best not to laugh but failed and burst out laughing. All Might just stood there awkwardly while Izuku had been joined by Katsuki and Shinso. They started to get scolded by Iida the blue-haired boy for disrespecting the teacher and number one hero. All Might cough into his hand trying to get everyone's attention.
