A/N: Sorry I haven't been active for a while, there was just so much going on in my life.
Btw this is not meant to be against Christmas at all, it's just Nico's view on the world.

Nico's POV:
Hazel and I were walking around town, trying to find Christmas presents for everyone on our list. Okay, it was mostly Hazel, seeing as everyone loved her and she had an enormous list. Me, not so much. I was mostly here for moral support and to "enjoy the festive season." as Hazel called it. So far, she had found something for everyone but her boyfriend, Frank. As this was their first Christmas together, she was dreadfully nervous as to what to get him, and wouldn't take anyone's opinion on it, not even mine.

Hazel continued to chew her fingernails anxiously, so I tried to console her to the best of my abilities, which admittedly weren't the finest. She sighed deeply and told me not to worry about it, and that she'd find something soon. I gave her a smile that was only reserved for her to see, and she gave one back. We continued walking with the crowd when a Christmas Choir came into view. I groaned. Having to put up with bright colours and merry moods was one thing, but to have to endure listening to a bunch of people singing in high voices about gods-know-what was another. I had almost dragged Hazel in the opposite direction was something, or rather, someone caught my eye.

Even though it was the middle of winter, he had warm, tan, sun-kissed skin. His wavy, blond hair looked naturally messy, and his soft, pink lips went well with his white teeth. And his voice! I was pretty sure it was his voice that sounded so angelic and melodious, so deeply passionate about the song it sang. Unlike the others around him, the blond-haired beauty seemed to be singing from his heart, with his eyes squeezed shut, and not just for the fact of having sung the song. The eagerness and happiness just seemed to radiate off him, and for the first time, I truly understood what having Christmas spirit meant.

Hazel's voice brought me back to reality.

"Done having a good look, brother?" she teased.

I spun around to feel my cheeks flaming up on my deathly pale skin. Hazel had a hand on her hip and the biggest smile on her face.

"Wha-no-I was just-uh, uh, uh, admiring that cute dog over there." I said, pointing behind the choir.

Her eyes flitted to where I'd gestured and she raised an eyebrow. I looked back to see a dead bird on the road.

Shit.

"Alright, fine, you got me. I was staring at that guy over there." I admitted. Now, normally, I wouldn't betray my feelings to anyone like this so easily, but this was Hazel, and we generally told each other everything (aside from that one time I snuck outta the house to go see a MCR concert. What can I say though? That was one of the best moments of my life).

"He seems nice. Maybe you should get to know him." Hazel suggested

"What? No way. Have you seen him? He's way out of my league. Just the thought of him being with someone like me is ridiculous." I said, quickly fusing out her idea. She looked slightly upset and tried not to show it, but I could tell how she was really feeling.

I sighed. "Look, it's just, I don't think I could handle a relationship. I'm not really the type of person to show affection and everything."

"But you show me affection."

"That's different." I muttered.

"Oh, okay then. Well, I'm going to do the rest of my shopping, I still haven't found anything for Frank."
