summary: Duff is on his way home from a long day at the studio and all he wants to do is cuddle y/n but gets in a bad car accident.

It was a very tiring and stressful day recording at the studio and all Duff could think about was going home and curling up beside y/n. He was just a few blocks away from his and y/n's new home when all of a sudden a semi crashes into the passenger side of Duff's car. 10 minutes later y/n hears sirens close by and automatically looks out the window to see an ambulance and cop cars surrounding a semi and what looks like Duffs car that was now totaled. she stops what she's doing and runs as fast as she could towards the accident with tears welling in her eyes. After what seemed like forever she finally reached the scene she let out a blood curdling scream when she saw her once blond fiance on a stretcher with red blood stained hair being put in to an ambulance. She tries to run to him to see if he was okay when a police officer stops her. Once she tells him who she is he leads her to the ambulance. she gets in and sits next to his unconscious body and grabs his limp hand and starts to cry. After finally getting to the hospital Duff is rushed into surgery. After an hour the doctor walks to y/n and tells her that Duff may not make it. y/n enters the room duff is in and sits next to him again and just looks at him with more tears in her eyes listening to his slow heart beat. the minutes turn to hours and Duff's heart beat gets slower and slower until it stops completely and he flat lines. y/n jumps up and runs to the hall way and screams for a doctor, once the doctor and a bunch of nurses arrive into the room they try to bring him back with the defibrillator ( I think that's what it's called.) but it doesn't work. After trying several tries the doctor calls the time of death and y/n just stands there shocked for several seconds. She walks out of the hospital and drives until she stops at the spot that Duff purposed to her and looks down at the ocean thinking of Duff and everything she will never get to experience with him now that he is gone. They'll never get married or have the children they dreamed of having or grow old together. Then suddenly she thought that she wouldn't be able to see him anymore unless she died too, so she looked around once more at the world she used to love and jumped.
Duff and y/n can finally be together again.
