days passed as we waited for the court day to approach.

me and jungkook sat in the chairs, a lawyer by our side and a lawyer on the other for the guy who crashed with mina.

suddenly, a guy walked in. handcuffs on his wrists and an orange jumpsuit.

he had broad shoulders and light blonde hair. detective song was right, he looked like he hadn't slept in days.

"state your name." the judge spoke.

"kim seokjin, sir." he spoke.

"and your reason for being here?"

he cleared his throat, "i confessed to being involved in a car crash with my friend, mina jeon."

friend? was he kidding?

"friend? are you fucking serious-"

"mr. kim, please." the judge raised his hand to me as he silenced me.

"state your story, kim seokjin." the judge added.

"the night mina and i crashed, was the day i came back home from america. i had came to visit my family and i had been out late from staying at another one of my friend's house," he sighed. "mina was my friend from high school, in fact she was my best friend. and i moved to america during my sophomore year of high school."

"i promised mina i would come back to visit. so, the next day, i had planned to visit mina. but on my way home from my friend's house, i wasn't looking at the road when i collided with mina. in fact, i didn't know it was her until i stepped out of the car."

"when i checked to see who it was, i was shocked to see my high school best friend in the car. i had informed someone on the street, at the time, to call the police, and that's when i fled. i was afraid and i never forgave myself for what i did."

"it broke my heart everyday, knowing that i crashed into her. i had to live with that pain and guilt for five years, your honor. and i'm willing to accept any time for my sentence."

he turned to me and jungkook, "and i would like to say that i am truly sorry for taking her life." he began to cry. "you have no idea how terribly sorry i feel. and how much i regret what happened. i am so sorry."

the judge cleared his throat, "thank you seokjin, that will be all."

"we will now let the jury, decide your sentence, mr. kim."

the room grew silent as we watched one of the jurors step up, folder in hand.

she cleared her throat as she opened the folder, "as a result of this case and kim seokjin's explanation. the jury has decided to sentence mr. kim five years in jail, with parole."

seokjin exhaled heavily, his head falling between his legs, i bet he's just happy he didn't get life.

you know, i'm the one who told him to confess.

i furrowed my eyebrows, mina?

yes namjoon, duh. i told seokjin to confess instead of beating himself up. and boom, here we are now.

you knew this whole time that he did it. you could've told me!

if i told you, you'd be the one in handcuffs right now. everything is fixed and everything is fine now. what you have to worry about is finishing that damn song and making the world go nuts.

i smiled. "come on hyung, time to go." jungkook said as he placed his hand on my shoulder.

i'm glad everything is fine now.
