"Oh my gosh! Look at you in 5th grade. You looked so cute," Kayla giggled.

When I came home from Zack's art show, I found Kayla going rummaging through our old yearbooks. Specifically our 5th grade yearbook. I can't believe she found those.

"Whatever Kayla. You're the one who looked cute," I said as I gave her a cup of coffee. "I remembered, you were always wearing bows in your hair."

Kayla smiled. "Well those were back in the days, I'm trying on something new now."

I laughed. "Wow. I can't believe we looked like this before." I flipped through the pages. Then I saw him.

"Zack! It's Zack!" Kayla freaked.

"Oh my god. That is not him," I said, shocked.

"It is! Oh my god. Puberty did done him right!"

I agree with Kayla. Who knew someone who's so dorky and nerdy could look like that?

"Aww his huge glasses," Kayla said. I remembered when Zack came up to me and gave me a flower. He was wearing those huge glasses that hid his green eyes.

"Oh Zacky..." Kayla murmured as she flipped through the pages some more. "So how was tonight?" she asked.

It took me awhile to realize what she was talking about. "Oh, uhmm it was great. Zack did great. Everyone loved his artwork. He's an awesome artist."

"So did you make a move on him?" Kayla said nudging me.

"What?! No! Like I said, I'm not interested in relationships right now."

"You never know, what if he still likes you?"

"That was a super long time ago,Kayla. I doubt he still likes me. I doubt he'll ever like me again."

"But do YOU like him?" Kayla asked with a serious face. I don't know, do I? I mean he's hot and talented and all, but do I really? Maybe a crush...

I smiled at Kayla. "See you do like him!"

"Not like that. Just a crush," I said.

"Like, crush, there's no difference."

"There is a difference."

"No. It's the same."

"You know what, let's go to sleep Kayla. I'm really tired and sleepy," I yawned. It wasn't a complete lie, I was tired.

"Fine. We'll continue this tomorrow," Kayla said as she tossed the yearbook on the table.

"Good night Kayla," I said as I pulled my blanket over me.

"Good night Kristine."

I woke up to the smell of coffee. It smells great. "Kristine.... Wake up," Kayla said while softly nudging me.

"What time is it?" I said groggily.

"Time to get up for school. Look! I made you breakfast in bed."

I bolted right up. Wow. Kayla's the best roommate ever. She made eggs, toast, cookies, iced coffee and ahhhh my favorite, bacon! I quickly snatched a piece of bacon and scarfed it down in less than a second.

"Calm down, Kristine," Kayla said as she watched me eat the rest of my breakfast. I never noticed how hungry I was.

"You're dressed extra pretty today," I said with my mouthful.

Kayla giggled. "I have to. Mike's coming back from Washington today. And he's planning to take me on a date after school."

"Awwwwww Kayla," I smiled at her. She matured so much. Before, Kayla was the last girl who was ever interested in dating. She was always shy around guys and was always scared to talk to them. Until she met Mike. She fell for him right away. But I don't blame her, he always made her happy and I approve of him. I'm fine if they got married right after we graduate high school.

"Man, does it have to rain today?" Kayla said sadly as I parked the car near our school's main building.

"Yup, weather hates us," I murmured. Kayla poured. "But hey, on the bright side I brought umbrellas."

Five minutes later we bolted through the double doors. "We made it. And not one of us wet." I giggled at what Kayla just said. "Stop thinking wrong!" Kayla said laughing.

"Hey isn't that Mike over there?" I motioned to his direction.

"Do I look fine?" Kayla was panicking while she combed her hair.

"You look great, Kayla."

"I don't wanna leave you by yourself."

"Go. I'm gonna be fine. It's almost first block anyways. And I know how much you've missed the guy," I was pushing Kayla toward Mike, who just saw her.

"Okay. I'll see you in lunch." Then she marched off.

After Kayla left, someone tapped me from behind. I turned and there he was.
