I tried to sneak in my class but failed. "Kristine?" my teacher asked. "Why are you late?"

"I-I'm sorry miss T. I got stuck in traffic on my way back," I lied. "Promise it won't happen again."

She nodded. "Okay," she said "Just take a seat."

This is why miss T. is my favorite teacher. She's been my music teacher since sophomore year and she's always been understanding. All of her students love her and only because she could relate to us and treats us like her kids.

"I'm gonna have to talk to you after class," she told me as I sat on my seat.

After school I met Kayla at the parking lot. "What took you so long?" she asked.

"Oh uhh... Cause I was late to class," I said, trying to hide any emotion.

"You were with Zack weren't you?" she said as she poked my arm.

"Yeah so?"

"So? What happened after you guys left me and Mike!" she was gripping on my shoulders.

"Nothing! Calm down Kayla. We just went to another restaurant and ate there instead," I said.

"Why would he take you to another restaurant, huh?" Kayla asked slyly.

"Cause we wanted to give you and Mike some alone time. There's nothing going on between us two."

"Are you sure? Cause it seems like he likes you."

"He's just being friendly," I said.

Kayla sighed. "If you say so."

"Aren't you supposed to hang-out with Mike today?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"Nah... He said he's busy unpacking today. But he promised this weekend!" Kayla's eyes lit up.

I laughed. "You're so in love with that boy."

She nodded enthusiastically. Aww she's so cute when she does that.

When we arrived home I immediately went up to my room to change. Man, it's so hot nowadays. I started on doing my homework but after five minutes, I gave up. So I went downstairs to get some snacks.

"Hey Kristine!" Kayla called. I noticed she was sitting next to a strawberry-blonde haired girl, who I never seen in my entire life.

"Sup," I walked toward them.

"This is Ally. She's my chemistry partner." Ally smiled and waved. "And this is Kristine, my bestest friend in the whole world." Ally and I laughed. "Anyways, we're here to work on some project. If you're fine with that."

"Of course, Kayla. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked.

"Cause you know, you might invite someone to come over.." Kayla said slyly.

"No, Kayla! I will not, ever. Why would you even think that?"

Kayla shrugged her shoulders. "What if I say that I invited him to hang-out with you here?"

I was wide-eyed. "You did not!"

Kayla laughed. "Kidding."

Ally looked at us confused.

"Well I'm gonna go make us some food. Mind you if you keep Ally company?" Kayla excused herself and went off to the kitchen.

I sat next to Ally. "You guys are so funny," she said.

"Well that's Kayla to you. But I love the girl." I said. Ally smiled. "Hey, have I seen you around before? You look kinda familiar?"

"Oh, we met once, in sophomore year. I was in your algebra class, but then I transferred out the class."

"Oh. But how come I don't see you around?" I asked.

"I don't really go out that much. And I don't hang-out with a lot of people," she said quietly. "Yeah but I see you around all the time."

"Really?"

"Yup. You're always with Kayla and that guy..." her tone went even quieter.

"Zack?" I asked.

Immediately, her eyes lit up. I looked at her. She smiled.

"Wait, do you like Zack?"

"Umm... Kinda. Well, yeah. He's in my English class and I think he's really, really cute."

You're not the only one, I thought.

"Have you talk to him?" I asked.

"No. I'm scared to. I always get nervous whenever I try to approach him."

"Hey, he's a nice guy. Nothing to be afraid of. Just talk to him. Unless you want me to talk to him for you," I offered.

"No no it's okay. I'll try," Ally smiled at me. I smiled at her back. Then I started to feel uneasy. Why am I worried? It's not like I like Zack too, right?

"Snacks here!" Kayla called as she came with a tray of food.

"Wow!" Ally looked impressed.

"Yeah I'm lucky to be able to eat this everyday," I said.

That night I finally finished the last of my homework. It was past 12 and Kayla was already asleep. Before going to bed, I kept thinking about what Ally told me. So what if she likes Zack? I shouldn't be jealous. Then I started to think about another thing. What if I like him too? But that wouldn't be so bad, I mean it's just a crush. It won't hurt.
