"Drift into song and let it carry you away..." The person was singing on the speakers, but I wasn't feeling like dancing at the moment.
I spotted Cole telling Gwen something serious and rolled my eyes. Alec started to walk away, but I grabbed his arm. "Help. Wait. He's looking our way. He's coming toward me. Alec!" Alec winked at me before he left.
I nervously fidgeted and twisted my hands as Cole neared me. "Uh, hello, uh... I heard about what happened, with you guys..."
"Spying on you?" Cole chuckled, but I didn't see what he found so funny.

"Oh, nothing."
"Okay... so, shouldn't you be dancing with Gwen or something?"
"Nah."
"Why not...?"
"No need."
"Ah?"
"Because you're here, are you not?"
