i opened the door of the bus station and looked down, trying to avoid the raindrops to get at my face.

the air was much more pleasurable than it was in the morning.

it was half past four. the traffic was awful in this time of the day and i barely fit in the bus, not to mention the amount of cars at the roads. horrible.

i walked next to an artisan store, and as i lightheadedly looked at the products behind the glass, i saw my own mirror image. i wore my black jeans turned up, some yellow long socks and under my unzipped bomber jacket i wore my nirvana tee over my yellow-white striped baggy jersey top.

a group of middle-aged men walk past me so i shook my head and i just had time to notice the electric pylon right in front of me. i stepped at the left and looked up.

the rain kept on spatting and i already regretted a hundred times that i hadn't run back to our house for an umbrella when i left home and realised it was raining. now i was all watery because of it although at first sight it would seem like it was barely sprinkling.

the coffee shop we decided to go was about fifteen minutes away. i sped my pace up and put my hands in my pockets, as i looked around before i ran to the other side of the road. i kept on walking and humming harry styles' kiwi until i turned right and walked straight ahead.

the buildings and the people in them were in deathly silence. it was like in a movie when the main character was depressed because of some stuff and went to a walk.

i exhaled loudly as i slowly walked past a big block. a black landrover drove down the road beside me and i saw the chaffeur looking at me for a moment, but then looking away.

the next thing i noticed the wet and cold thing on my left leg. i looked down to see a big blob on it. i angrily glanced back at the car over my shoulder but it was already gone at the corner.

i groaned frustratedly, then shook my head and ran my fingers through my hair which was also wet.

i had to get a cigarette somewhere.

i went on walking, but this time seemed like to slow down. i reached for my pocket, hoping i remembered wrong and still would find the thing i was looking for, but no, nothing. just twenty pounds that i rammed into it on my way down the stairs back at home.

i finally made it to the cafe.

i pushed the door in and as it opened and the warm air reached me, i looked at my totally soaked jeans and started laughing.

i walked into the big hall and started looking around. as it turned out, it wasn't necessary.

"cOLE!"

i heard the sharp familiar voice from the exact opposite direction that i was looking at. i turned around to see my three friends looking at me. i made my way to them, as i was grinning at them half awkwardly, half honestly.

"wATERSON" i replied showing a cringe peace sign at ellie, the one that shouted my last name.

"impressive" whispered june loudly and looked at me with her ocean blue eyes proudly. "just in time. congrats."

i just ignored it and was about to tell them about how much i was dumb not bringing an umbrella with me when i realized lettie was grinning at me widely while handing me a cigarette.
