i was on my way. again.

i was on my way to clay hill for football practise.

i repositioned my beanie and swung my bag which i was carrying. i was looking forward to run a few circles and then have fun with the squad.

i was really tired by the way, mentally. on the first math class of the double ones, we wrote a quick test which i didn't prepare for. in principle, it was announced by our teacher but none of us remembered it. interesting.

i ended up working with the guy behind me and i think we made a pretty good job. mr nelson didn't notice and just some of kids from the class did. plus, we chatted for a while, everyone was writing the last tasks or reviewing the full solutions and the silence was already broken.

i had a test the next day as well and i didn't know how i was going to bring myself to learn.

but then i turned at the corner and saw half of the team in the parking lot, laughing and talking, every thought connecting to school left my head.

"hey char!" brad called and all the others turned to me.

"hellooo!" i said smirking. "how are ya?"

the six of us chatted for a while and also discussed some details about our match last friday. we were currently listening to our bad boy's, ben's narrative about his epic blocking and feint.

"...that's how kaity got the football and scored" he smiled proudly and imitated a mindblow movement.

"okay, nobody's gonna talk about our beautiful interplay with aidan?" payton asked, putting his hands on his hips bringing us to book for not mentioning them making the another's team's two centre midfield players gimped up.

"i didn't see it" brad laughed, shrugging his shoulders.

"me neither" i said, looked at the guy beside me and standed his gaze, he made a fake-offended expression.

"you guys don't know what you've missed" he said shaking his head.

ruby and jace were currently discussing about the skills of each members of our opponents and ben was looking at his phone, texting someone.

that's when i heard the quiet growling of an engine and also some wheels rolling on the tiny little stones that were all over the parking lot. i turned around to see the familiar minivan of ours.

"heeere we go" jace slapped his hands together.

they pulled over and i was already bouncing, with my hands in the pocket of my trousers.

"heeey!" george shouted and i immediately ran up to him cheering.

"HEEEY!" i barely looked at him, but saw his ear to ear smile anyway. his eyes very hardly visible when he was smiling like that. his golden hair was combed to the side as always.

i jumped into is arms and heard his joyful giggling.

we didn't had the chance to meet after the match because he left just after it to go home and celebrate his little sister's birthday and we didn't talk in person since then.

i let him go and he looked the happiest person alive, jace, ben and brad then gave him fistbumps and the started to talk about the things he skipped.

after him, the whole team got out of the van and we greeted everybody.

kaity ran up to ben and they kissed each other happily, as george came up to me and embraced me from the side. the others were smirking and continued their interesting chit chat.
