A special day?

Jack woke up to clanging in the kitchen, he immediately ran into the kitchen, not sure what to expect. It was his grand-father. He slowly made his way back into the lounge-room where he had slept the previous night, due to his abrupt waking he was slightly disorientated and couldn't remember why he had slept out there.

There was someone else on the couch, not where he was sleeping, farther up the couch, but someone there none the less. He was about to shake them awake when he remembered, Ben had stayed the night at his place so he could be at the 'party' for Jack's birthday.

They did nothing for a couple hours when suddenly the doorbell rang and Jack made his way to the door, it was Phil, an hour early. He apolgized that he hadn't been able to play D&D with them the other night so he decided that he'd come early so that they could play before the others arrived.

They played for a bit, details were sketchy but there was a horse named Charlie and he was in Mordor and they had to get him to Candy Mountain, goblins were killed and so was a fateful Frodo.

Eventually Max and Emma arrived, Dammit, He had hoped that Bella would arrive first, he really was starting to lose it over her, it was hard to believe that something so small could affect him so much.

"Hey Jack" Max said as she got out of her car, she was wearing a weird hat like a captain's cap.

"Hey" Jack replied, suprised at the lack of venom.

"Hey Jack" Emma yelled.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" They both yelled.

Eventually the others arrived and they all started to play Cards Against Humanities, a favoured game of theirs, it was uneventful apart from some light mentions from Max about her Mum making her come to the party, Jack realised that Max was being nicer because it was his birthday.

Later they decided to watch a movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. They were all sitting on the couch except for Jack who was lying on the floor, he had been feeling awfully sick most of the day. At one point he woke to the sound of a grenade launcher in the movie, he looked around and saw Max leaning on Jodie's leg...It broke his heart, he knew that Max didn't care about gender and, unfortunately, he was a horribly jealous person, he always felt terrible whenever she hugged someone, he always wished he was one being hugged.

~~~
After the movie finished, Max's mum came to pick her up, she went around the room, hugging all but Ben and Phil, she eventually came to Jack, she waved and started to speak
"Do you want a hug?" She asked, he must have looked sad or uncomfortable, he had exclaimed many times that he hated hugs and on some level he did, he loved hugs but he hated how close they were, he didn't like getting close to people, he was worried that if he ever did really 'lose it' if he would hurt anyone.
He was dying to say yes.
"Ummmm no." He said in his usual mannerism, the only difference being he had a great smile on his face and bright red cheeks.
~~~

For some reason he felt horribly depressed today, of all days. Was it the mention that he was acting depressed, was it Max and Jodie or was it simply because his mental health was deteriorating, he wasn't sure.

~~~
One by one they all left leaving Jack all by his lonesome. Great.
