Ace and I have been together for two years. I've grown closer with most of his friends, and he has earned back the trust of my mother. My siblings were quicker to accept him back. I repeated to my family many times that there was no need to be so bitter, since everything was a misunderstanding. Still, it was a little bit before they accepted him as my boyfriend. He understood, but it made me angry.

My mother is dating someone from work. She had her baby- a gorgeous little boy named Liam. Luckily, he looks like her.

We hardly hear from my dad. Once every six months or so he calls or sends a letter. Apparently he remarried some super young chick and pumped out two more kids.

Lisa and I talk sometimes. We aren't as close as we used to be, for no reason in particular. We drifted apart. She's dating one of the Cobras that I don't get along well with.

Both Ace and I finished high school. We live in a little house together. He's working in an auto repair shop, and I'm taking college classes to be an English teacher.

I met his parents. They're cool, and they like me, but I don't see them often.

"Darling?" Ace asks, coming through the front door. He holds up a bag from the diner. "I brought dinner."

"One moment," I say. I finish writing the last few words of my book report, then skip it into my folder.

I join Ace in the kitchen. He starts pulling food out.

"What'd you bring?" I wonder, my stomach rumbling as I smell it.

"Broccoli Alfredo pasta, no chicken," he tells me. He slides my food to me. It's a Styrofoam take-home container, and he stacks a small package of bread sticks to the top. My favorite.

"Thank you, love," I say. I stretch up a little to press a kiss to his lips.

"Of course, darling."

We sit at the small table and start to eat. When we finish, he pulls out a small chocolate cake.

"Close your eyes," he says.

"Why?"

He smiles. "Just do it."

I shut my eyes, clapping my hand over them. I hear something moving by me. Perhaps he's pulling some kind of prank, but I decide to trust him. I squeeze my eyes tighter.

"Open them," he says about a minute later.

It's a good thing I decided to trust him.

The cake is open in front of me. In very light brown frosting, the words will you marry me are written in fancy writing.

I look at him. He gets onto one knee in front of me, taking my left hand.

"Eleanor Collins, you mean the entire world to me. From the moment I met you, something was pulling me towards you. I couldn't stay away. Now, I went and talked to your mother and she said I could do this." He stops to giggle and pull out a little black box. "I love you so much, El. More than you'll ever know. I want to spend the rest of my life, every day, with you. Will you marry me?"

I'm choked up for a second. I can't believe it. I blink twice, and nod. I have to clear my throat before I can verbally respond.

"Yes, John. I would love to marry you."

The end! I hope you guys enjoyed this, because I teared up a little when it was time to end it. I loved writing it.

Thank you so much for reading. And, as always, I love you all. You're important and needed. X
