Christine's POV
December 24, 2014
"Oh, night divine. Oh, night, oh night divine." I sang in our church together with the choir.
Let's just say I'm a very religious person, very commited to our church.
I grew up in a Christ-centered family although I'm just adopted. I'm still glad and happy that they accepted and treated me like they're own daughter. I know I'm lucky enough to have them. I'm so grateful. And in return, I always do what they want. Like studying hard and being on top of the class. And not dating anybody for now. Even if, I got tempted sometimes.
I'm just a petite anf pale simple girl. Some guys ask me out, but I always refuse.
It's christmas eve, I spent some hours in our church to sing some Christmas songs for the people who decided to go here. It's kinda a tradition here.
My fellow choir members are like family to me too. When we decided to go home, some even gave me their Christmas presents.
Mark, my crush, walked towards me. His dark brown eyes shifted around the room. Maybe trying to avoid my gaze.
"Merry Christmas." He greeted. He grinned happily at me like he just have the best day ever.
Ohmygod. He looks really hot with his buttoned up red polo shirt. His hair is neatly done and waxed. He's the kind of guy who looks clean all the time. And the kind of guy my family likes.
"Merry Christmas," I greeted back as he reached in for a hug. Then, he handed me his gift. "Thank you."
And because he's my crush, I bought him a gift too. I handed it to him and he smiled gratefully.
"Thanks, Chris." He said. "I can't wait to see what's in it."
"Don't open it 'til Christmas day." I told him.
"Sure." He said. "So, where will you spend your Christmas?" He asked casually.
"I'm going home. To my family's house."
He nodded, "That's good."
He knows his limits. He knows my family. But I don't know why he won't fight for it. I might like him, but I will never make the first move.
"I gotta go now." I said, "the weather isn't that good."
"Yeah. Do you want me to take you home?" He offered.
"Oh. I would love that but I can manage, really. And I know your family is waiting for you too."
"Are you sure? I really don't mind."
I chuckled. "I'm sure. I'll just see you around." I said.
"Okay. Suit yerself." He said.
"Bye." I said for the last time and walked away.
I'm going home and I'm so excited to see my family again.
When I turned 18, Mom bought me an apartment so I could settle by my own. It's not that huge, but it's cozy for me. She trusts me enough to let me live away from them. I never keep secrets from them. Let's just say I'm a good girl. And I love playing the good girl role. I think it really fits me.
The streets are covered with snow tonight. Everywhere I look, all I can see is snow. It's not that I hate it. I just want to experience a sunny and dry Christmas someday just like in Australia.
I crossed my arms because of too much cold. I hope I could make it home without turning to an ice sculpture. I prayed silently for guidance and safety.
