Trisha's POV
December 24, 2014
Tonight's the Christmas eve and I'm just in my room, instead of going out and enjoying the snow with my friends.
While listening on Nick Jonas' new album in my iPod, my phone started ringing. It's Jake.
Jake's my boyfriend for three months and I swear he's so tall and handsome as hell. He's the quarterback of the football team. I couldn't believe that he likes me. I mean, I'm just a simple girl behind these square eye glasses who sits at the corner and reads novels.
I glanced at the window of my room and answered Jake's call.
"Hello, babe." I answered.
"Hey. Whatcha doin'?" He said. He sounds frail.
Worry crept over me.
"Just in my room, listening music. Are you okay?" I responsed. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, baby." He said. "You wanna meet in Hot Waffles right now?"
A smile crossed my face. "Sure."
"See you there in 10 minutes."
Then he hung up.
I put on my red sweater,my favorite beanie, scarf, and boots.
I run downstairs and saw Mom in the living room sitting on her reading chair. Of course, reading again. I guess the love for reading just runs in my blood.
"Mom, I'm going out." I said. Just informing her, not asking permission.
"Just go." She said.
I just rolled my eyes. I grabbed my coat with fur trimmed hoodie.
Mom just doesn't care since Dad left. Maybe we're the only house here without any Christmas decorations.
I slammed the door and walked out. It's a bright afternoon. Our neighbors seem like enjoying the snow with their little children. How lucky they are.
When I was a kid, I used to do play in the with my Dad. But now that Dad is gone, so much for celebrating this Christmas. My only chance to be make this Christmas special is Jake.
I just walked my way to Hot Waffles. Since winter came, it has been Jake's favorite place. I still prefer the restaurant where we first dated.
After like a 15 minute walk, I arrived in Hot Waffles. I saw Jake sitting in our usual seat. He waved at me, smiling. I smiled back.
"Hey." I greeted and pecked him on his cheek. "I missed you."
"Ah..." He replied.
What's wrong with him?
I took a seat in front of him and he called out a waiter.
The waiter came immediately.
"One caramel Latte and one chocolate waffle with cinnamon." Jake ordered monotously.
"What about you, miss?" The waiter asked.
I looked up at him. He doesn't look familiar.
"Are you new here?" I asked out of nowhere.
"Yeah. Just decided to have my Christmas vacation here. My Aunt owns this place." He answered in a very sexy british accent.
I studied his face and it is the most attractive one that I have ever seen. His hair is just in simple cut. Short and neat. But his eyes. They're green. Just like in Ginny Weasley's poem for Harry. "His eyes is green as a freah pickled toad."
