The Floating World ~ [Noragami ff]

Chapter 1

"Ohh, come on Yato do you always have to spray your number all over the city walls?" Yukine was a little annoyed from the fact that Yato still hasn't his life under control like the other gods with their normal job.

'Why do I have to stuck with him? It isn't like I could leave him because without me he would be screwed up. But sometimes he drives me crazy!' Yukine crossed his arms and rolled his eyes to the right side so that he hasn't endured Yato in his field of view.

"Mhh, don't get upset." Yato quickly wrapped an arm around Yukine's neck, which were far away from his personal space.

"Get your nasty hands off me who knows when the last time was you washed your hands or the rest of you!" Yukine jumped backwards and shook his hands wildly in the air.

Yato turned his head to the side and pouted with his mouth. "There is no requiring to be so mean to your handsome and good-looking god. I just try to..." In that moment Yato's phone rang, and he immediately answered it.

"Hello! Thank you for calling Fast and affordable and reliable delivery God Yato. At your service!" He only talked to the person on the phone for a few seconds. "I understand, we will be right there." Yato turned his head to Yukine and looked him deeply in his eyes. "Come on Yukine, we have a mission to do."

Yukine was wondering what kind of job they need to take care of this time. "But wait shouldn't we.." It was too late for him to finish his sentence as Yato instantly teleported him and Yukine through the phone to the location the person was.

They were standing in the middle of a bathroom where they heard the splashing of the bathtub, and next to it stood an old lady.

"Hey Yato, we should open the shop by now." He was worried what Kofuku would do with them, if she finds out nobody was at home and ran the shop. In general she is always cute and nice but when someone abuses her trust then you don't want to be in her reach of 10 kilometers.

Finally, he snapped back from his terrible thoughts and realized that Yato didn't even listen to what he was saying. Yato already put on the cleaning gloves, a mouthguard and a bathing cap that were prepared for them of the sink.

As Yukine looked around him, his eyes widened as he spoke out his thoughts. "We have to wash that old lady?"  He didn't want to think about it. 

"Oh, no darling not me." The old lady giggled and pointed to the seven cats behind her.
He was glad that they found something to do but Yukine wasn't convinced if this will be a good idea. "Yato.. I don't know."

Yato was dead serious with all of his jobs no matter how stupid they were. "Isn't this cute Yukine? We can be around with some little super fluffy kittens!"

Yukine realized, he didn't even have a choice. He sighed and put it on as well. "You will see it will be a piece of a cake." Yato wanted to cheer him up and patted him on the shoulder.

"Yeah, whatever." Yukine is always cautious and keeps distance with cats because he hadn't the best experiences with them.  They look cute and all but when you do one wrong move you need to run for your life.

"Don't be afraid Yukine they won't hurt you, see?" Yato grabbed a cat with one hand and wanted to put him into the bathtub. But then the cat hissed and meowed and jumped onto Yatos chest and scratched his scarf.

Yukine stepped back and trapped with his foot exactly on the tail of another cat. Then the cats attacked Yukine as well. He didn't know what to do and helplessly looked over at Yato. But he was too busy with his own problem to keep the lil' kittens away from him. Yukine shook his hands uncontrollably in front of him and accidentally knocked the open shampoo bottle over, leaving all over the floor.

An endlessly long hour passed by. Yato and Yukine were quite exhausted and sat on the wet floor. At least they managed to have the kittens ready before the owner came back. Fortunately the kittens knew how to clean themselves.

The woman came back and was amazed of her cats how clean they looked. She didn't even noticed how the restroom was flooded.

"My little kittens how pretty they look, thank you so much." She was really generous and wanted to give them 1000 yen each.

"Oh no, I am a god. I just work for 5 yen." Yato replied but then he looked over to his Shinki and saw how sad he was and at least accepted it.
