My brothers have always been able to get under my skin. Mike had always been the one that didn't care about what he was doing. I never let him get to me like he was able to do tonight but there was something different in the way that Mike was looking at Kenna that I didn't like. He was poking around trying to figure out why she was here, and I didn't want to continue this conversation anymore. I grabbed Kenna which I know I didn't have to do; she would have followed me to my room, but I wanted to make it clear to Mike that she wasn't something he could have. I know how his past relationships have gone and I knew that he would be no different with Kenna. We walked into my room and I shut the door behind me. Mike should be leaving soon for work but now he knew to stay away from my room. Turning back around to look at Kenna and seeing the questioning look on her face I knew she had questions and she wouldn't let me go without giving her answers.

"What was that all about?"

"I just don't like how Mike can be sometimes. It is like he doesn't think before he does."

"I am a big girl. If you forgot I grew up with you guys, and I know how he can be. I know he gets a joy out of messing with you and that is what you gave him tonight."

She was right and I did let Mike get under my skin and start some tension but the look I saw him give her in the kitchen tells me there is history between them and when I left for college something changed between them.

"Now let's get this movie night started."

She walked over to the DVD binder and started looking through them. I keep forgetting that we aren't the kids that we once were, and she doesn't need as much protection as she once had. I went and grabbed the remote from the bedside table and turned on the tv and the dvd player. She grabbed a dvd and made her way over to the player and put the movie and then made her way over to the bed and sat against the wall.

"Should have known you would choose a romance movie."

"I can't help it if I like the happy endings at the end."

Everyone always wants that happy ending and Kenna has always talked about how she would like her life to go that way. I always thought it was the best because she was able to keep this vision even with all the negativity that she went through during her teenage years. I was captain to the hockey team and many people liked me; I didn't have the hard time that she did. The movie started to play, I turned the overhead light off and turned the bedside table light on and then moved to sit against the wall on the bed. I felt Kenna move next to me and rest her head on my shoulder. I grabbed the blanket that was on my bed and covered us. It wasn't long before I felt my eyes growing heavy and fighting to keep them open but they finally closed losing the fight.

I don't know when I fell asleep, but I was waking up with the sun shining in my eyes. I went to move out of the sun and noticed that Kenna was asleep on my chest. I lifted her arm and then her head off me and quietly moved off the bed and went out of the room. I made my way to the bathroom. Once I was done in there, I went into the kitchen to find something to eat. The house was too quiet for both of my brothers being home. I know that Mike didn't always come home because of whoever he picked up at the bar that night. I haven't seen Greg in a while which wasn't like him at all. I didn't think it was his studies that were keeping him out late at night and gone for most of the morning. If it was what I thought, then I was happy for my younger brother to find someone that he can spend most of his time with.

"Good Morning." I looked up from the fridge door and saw Kenna in the doorway.

"Good Morning. How did you sleep last night?"

"I didn't make it through the first thirty minutes of the movie before I was asleep. Sorry if I made you uncomfortable at all."

"Nah I didn't even know you were asleep. I'm sorry if I woke you up this morning getting up."

"No, you didn't my internal clock is what woke me up."

I know what she meant by having an internal clock. I could be on a break and still end up waking up at four in the morning even if I didn't have practice. This was the first morning that I didn't wake up at my normal time. I was glad I didn't have practice today because I wanted to stay here and just relax all day.

"What do you have planned for today?"

"Nothing I don't have to work for the first time in months. I was just going to hang around my apartment."

"Why don't you hang out here today?"

"Okay I don't feel like traveling anyways right now. I do have to be home before six though and I still need to pick up my car from work." So, I did have some time before she would have to leave.

"Would you like some breakfast?"

"Yea what are you making?"

"Not sure, but does eggs sound good?"

"Sounds good to me. I'll be back to help you; I'm just going to run to the bathroom."

She left the doorway and I could hear another door shut. I made my way through the kitchen getting the pot I need and a bowl to mix the eggs in. It didn't take long before the bathroom door was opening, and I could hear footsteps heading towards me.
