The rest of the car ride was silent after that. We are sitting on opposite sides of the seat and haven't even looked over in each other's direction.

Before we step out of the car I fill Nick in quickly. "The venue owner, his name is Jeff, his daughter is about 16 and her name is Kate."

He still doesn't look at me and just nods his head, getting out of the car. I follow after him and when we walk up to the table we both plaster smile's over our faces. Jeff stands and his daughter does as well. I can tell she is star struck by Nick. As soon as he stepped up to the table her mouth dropped a bit and she quickly was on her feet. Her eyes stayed on him and didn't even kind of waiver over into my direction. After Nick shook Jeff's hand she was over to him in a heartbeat. I am now taking my turn to shake Jeff's hand, but I can hear her beside us speaking to Nick.

"Wow, Hi. I love you so much, thank you for coming to lunch. I am such a huge fan!" She is speaking sweetly, but surprisingly relatively calm, although I can hear the excitement coating her words.

"Of course, and thank you so much for being a fan." Nick speaks sweetly right back and instead of a handshake a hug is exchanged. That's when Kate finally looks over at me. It takes a second, but she just smiles at me, waving almost reluctantly. I wave back and then step over to her, offering my hand, which she also reluctantly takes.

"It's nice to meet you." I speak kindly and with a smile

"You too." Is all I get back before Kate just takes her seat not even bothering this time to hit me with a fake smile.

Okay, angry fangirl, it happens, unfortunately though, at a horrible time. I look at Nick and I think he witnessed the exchange, but as soon as he notices me looking at him he diverts his attention to taking his seat. I sit down beside him.

Lunch starts off as it normally does, small talk and what not. Jeff is a very nice guy and he seems appreciative of the business Nick is bringing him. I do catch Kate staring at Nick the whole time. It's like no one else in the room exists besides Nick. I am not jealous of a 16-year-old by any means, but it is still such a weird thing. I have dated before, nothing too serious, but still. When I dated before, it was normal. We went to lunch and on dates and to dinner and a movie without any interruption, now I am fighting off ruthless interviewer's and jealous 16-year-old fan girls. It is going to take a lot of adjusting.

Somehow the stars managed to align themselves against me and Jeff excused himself to take a phone call and Nick excused himself to use the restroom, leaving me alone with Kate. As soon as Nick was out of ear shot she, to my dismay, spoke.

"God he is so hot, I don't know how you managed that one, but it is impressive. You think he feels bad for you? Being his measly assistant and all, I am sure you were practically throwing yourself at him." She speaks with almost a laugh.

Are you fucking kidding me? Why is a 16-year-old talking to me like she is bullying me on the playground? And all this after this morning? Give me a fucking break.

I need to play my cards right here, one wrong thing said, and she is running to daddy telling him I was mean to her, and that is literally the last thing I need on my plate right now.

It took me a second, but I finally spoke. "I guess I just got lucky." Is all I said, short and sweet, and with a smile. Not even commenting on her shitty remark about 'throwing myself at him' and regardless, I am not going to fight with a jealous fangirl, no matter how old she is.

I could tell she was mad, mad I wasn't fighting back at her or making some rude comment of my own. "Hmph, well, I guess we'll see how long that lasts before he finds some hot model to run away with and you're left in the dust. Good luck."
