"I umm am gonna go take a shower." You say as you get up. "You can uh stay up here and once I'm done we can head to your house." You say as you walk down the ladder. You didn't need a shower but you needed to get away from Zach. You almost told him you loved him. That's not a big deal. Best friends say they love each other all the time. The difference this time was you didn't know what you meant behind the words. Did you love Zach? Like more than friends? Was Daniel right? Did Zach like you?
You shake your head as you hop in the shower leaving the boy to ponder what you said on the roof.
Zach's POV
I watched as Y/N walked down the ladder. She almost said she loved me. Did she mean it? Why didn't she just say it? Maybe she meant love as a friend but if she didn't, oh shit. What do I do? Should I try and talk to her about it or do I pretend like it didn't happen? God why is she so hard to read? I have no idea what she wants or if she feels the same way. I'm gonna go talk to. I walked down the ladder and heard the shower water running.
Back to Your POV
You stepped into the shower and sighed. What were you gonna do? You have no idea how you feel about Zach and no idea how he feels about you. You heard a knock on the bathroom door. He better not. "Y/N!" You hear Zach yell. "I'm taking a shower!" You yell. "I know I just need to talk to you!" He yells back. "Can't it wait!" You yell back. "No." He says as you hear the door open. "Zach what the hell!" You yell. "I'm not looking chill!" He yells as he sits down covering his eyes. "What do you need to talk about?" You ask him. "You almost said you loved me." He says to you.
"Cause I do." You say back as the shower sprays water on you. "Oh you do." He whispers. "Of course your my best friend, I love you." You say back not really thinking over what you just said. "Okay cool." He says as he stands up. "Wait you didn't think I liked you like more than friends. Did you?" You ask him. "No. Just checking we are on the same page." He says causing your heart to hurt. "Good." You say as your voice cracks. You don't know how you feel about Zach but his words somehow hurt you.
