Harry's P.O.V.
'Come on.' I turned the key again, but nothing happened. I heard the car stuttering over the pouring of the rain outside. 'Come on!' I said a little more frustrated, turning the key again. The car started just then. 'Yes!' But it shut off right away. 'No!' I let my head hit the headrest with a groan of frustration. I was meant to be at Louis' flat in fifteen minutes to help him with his furniture, but my car refused to start. Normally I would borrow Niall and Liam's car when this happened, but they were at work. I thought about calling Louis to have him pick me up, but I would've felt too much like a bother. With another sigh of annoyance I got out of the car, glaring at it before beginning to walk. It was nearly three miles so I would definitely be late. I just wish it wasn't pouring rain. I pulled out my phone to call him so he wouldn't worry why I was so late. I would just tell him Niall and Liam needed me for something.
He answered just after two rings, 'Harry! Are you here?' 'Erm no, I was calling to let you know I'm going to be a little late.' He was unmistakably disappointed, 'Oh, why?' 'Liam and Niall needed my help with something. 'Uh huh. Then why do I hear passing cars?' My face went hot with embarrassment that I hadn't thought of the cars. I sighed, 'Look Louis, it's no big deal. My car wouldn't start so I'm walking.' 'No big deal? You remember the last time you were walking alone? You nearly got mugged.' 'Yeah, but that was at night. I'll be fine.' 'I'm coming to get you.' 'Louis, no I'll be okay-' 'You should know by now I'm not taking chances when it comes to you. just stay put.' He hung up before I could protest again. I sighed before putting the phone back in my pocket and sitting down on the sidewalk. I pushed my already soaked curls out of my face, wishing I had a jacket of some sort. It didn't take much time for Louis to get there, but he almost passed me because he probably wasn't expecting me to be on the side of the road. Come to think of it I should've walked back to my flat since it was just around the corner and I was soaking wet now. Louis slammed on his breaks, the car behind him honking since he almost rear ended him. Louis jumped out of the car and came up to me as I was just standing. He yelled over the rain, 'What're you doing on the side of the road in the rain?' 'You told me to stay put.' 'I meant in your flat. Are you okay?' He grabbed my hands, making me blush. 'Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you for coming to get me. You didn't really think before you act, I feel as though you're my responsibility. He laughed slightly, but I could tell he wasn't joking. I smiled at my feet that Louis cared so much. 'Come on.' He began guiding me to the car, 'Let's not stand in the rain.' He made sure I was safely in the car before practically skipping to the driver's side.
When we got to Louis' house I was nothing short of impressed by it. It was a modest size, but the architecture was quite beautiful. 'It's gorgeous Lou.' 'Yeah I will admit Dan picks out nice houses.' 'And you live here by yourself?' Louis said as we got out, 'Yeah. It gets boring sometimes, but I like it.' I followed him along quickly, wanting to get out of the rain as he opened inside I couldn't help but snort. All of the furniture he brought last week was scattered all over the house in boxes. It even looked like he attempted to put together the coffee table, but it was in pieces on the floor.
'Jesus, you aren't handy at all are you?' I joked. 'Shut up. If I was then you wouldn't be here right now.' He pushed me into the living room with a chuckle. 'Before we start though, we should get you out of those clothes.' I turned around quickly to look at him in shock. 'Excuse me?' 'Your clothes are soaking wet. You can wear some of mine while we do this.' 'Oh.' I said, feeling quite stupid with myself. He snorted, 'You're an idiot you know? You really thought I would do that the first time we hang out?' 'Shut up.' I chuckled awkwardly. 'My bedroom is up the stairs and the first door on the right. My clothes are in the closet.' 'Thanks Lou, I appreciate it.' He just smiled at me, 'Anything for you.' Before I could blush I hurried up the stairs. When I got to his room I looked through his closet for anything that would fit me, but Louis was smaller so the only things I could go for were a pair of sweatpants and a jumper. They were better than the soaking wet clothes I had on. As I was changing a crack of thunder made me jump with a yelp. 'Harry are you okay?' I didn't want Louis to know I just got scared over a little thunder so I quickly said, 'Erm, I was just wondering what you wanted me to do with the wet clothes?' 'Bring them down we'll put them in the dryer.' I didn't respond and just kept getting dressed.
