"It's been forever since I've been up here."

"I know, I feel like we haven't seen each other in forever," Shawn said as he picked up a rock and skipped it across the lake.

It was beautiful, trees hanging over the lake, sounds of dripping water, sun was shining bright and of course Shawn made the view even more perfect. The colors of the view were so pastel and bright.

"Come over here, its the perfect place for the blanket."

Shawn and I are going on a picnic. We haven't seen one another in forever and it was nice to be able to catch up. My Grandmother packed us a lunch. She had her Golf Attendant take us to the lake in the back of the Golf Court on her golf cart.

Your probably wondering how I met Shawn and why he's still talking to my Grandma while were all gone. Basically, his mom is a good friend of my mom. My mom and his mom grew up together, so my Grandma and his Grandma were close. His Grandmother passed away about 2 years ago and so Shawn's mom and Shawn live with my Grandma, well, not really live with her, more like they live in one of my Grandma's guest houses. My Grandma treats Shawn like she treats us, except she sees him all day, everyday.

"Here place the blanket down here, here I'll help," he said as he wrapped his arms around my waist grabbing the blanket in my hands, holding my hands, along with the blanket.

I felt weird. There was this weird feeling in my stomach, heart, chest, everywhere. Tingling, warm, happy. I've never felt this way with Hayes, he was never warm, cuddly and never tells me that I'm beautiful.

"Thanks."

"No problem! So, tell me, how's high school?"

"Same as always, everyone judges each other, hurts each other, and yet adults say it was the best time of their lives. How about by you? Are people nicer here?"

"Its probably different cause I'm a guy but, yeah. The guys just beat each other up and then everyones cool again. Want some fruit?"

"Yeah, fill up my bowl."

"Okay. How about the guys at your school? Any cute ones?"

"Shawn, every time I talk to you, you always get on that topic," I said blushing. I felt my cheeks start to burn up.

"Yeah, well, so go on, answer the question," he said leaning his elbow against the ground.

"No, none at all."

"Come on, Jess. I know you better then that theres a someone."

"No, not really. You see, I was dating someone for like 2 years and he cheated on me last week. It could've went on earlier but last week is as far, and as much as I want to know about. It just hasn't been the same now at school."

"That's tough, Jess. It will get better, but you always have me. I will beat the hell out of the kid that cheated on you. You don't deserve to be treated like that. Yo-your beautiful."
