Chapter 6 still-the lake

"Thanks Shawn," I never had anyone tell me that before. Besides, that's all I could say was "Thanks"?

"Your welcome," he was now standing up next to me, our bodies touching. He was leaning in closer and closer until our lips touching lightly.

We started to kiss.

"What's wrong?" Shawn said quietly, as I pulled away, thinking of Hayes. I was wrong, I was doing what he was doing, cheating. Actually, no I wasn't, we broke up.

"Nothing, nothing," I said as I looked him down then up again meeting his beautiful eyes.

"If it's has to do with that boy, then we really should not-" I cut him off mid-sentence.

"No, it doesn't, I was just wondering if Gammie would want us to come back,"
this is lie #1.

"I doubt it, if she did she'd send someone out for us. So, where were we?" He leaned closer to me, again.

"Shawn, actually, I have to go to the bathroom. Can we pack up and go back?"
this is lie #2.

"Um, okay. I guess that would be okay."

"Great, thanks."

"Yeah."

How could I be so weird? What was I thinking? I like Shawn. Yet, I still like Hayes. I can't be that type.

We packed up quickly, gathering all our food and stuff.

We didn't say a word to one another until we got into Gammie's main house.

"Bye, Shawn, that was a lot of fun! We should do it again sometime!"
This is lie #3.

"Yeah, we should! See you later for dinner."

I ran upstairs to my room and immediately called Alex, she won't judge me like others would, and besides that, she's the only one who understands everything that I'm going through, she was there for me, and told me what was going on behind my back.

"Hi, Jess?"

"Yeah, Alex, it's me!"

"Oh, Jess, whats up?"

"A lot, actually. I need your help."

"With what?"

"Guys."

"Ew. Here we go, lemme guess, Hayes again?"

"Well, that's part of it."

"Keep talking.."

"As much as I want to be with Hayes is as much as I don't want to be hurt again. He texted me a HUGE apology and I kinda didn't really respond, but then he texted me right after I got off the plane and was saying how he's all hurt and lost without me and how he wants to get back together and-"

"First of all, slow down, your talking too fast! Second of all, isn't it a good thing that Hayes wants to get back together with you?"

"That's where the problem is. You see, I kinda told Hayes that I have a boyfriend, Shawn. Shawn thinks that I still like Hayes. It's all so confusing for me. Even I don't know who I like. By the way, Shawn and me kissed."

"What?! Shawn and you?!"

"Yeah, but I pulled away. I felt bad and wrong, like I was cheating on Hayes. I don't know what to do, who to be with and I need your help, to help me decide what to do."

"Well, let's see you have two adorable guys who want to be with you.. you have such a problem!"

"Alex, your such an ass sometimes!"

"I know! So, in all seriousness, look at it this way, who do you feel most comfortable with? Who makes you happier? Who do you feel respected most by?"

"But, I love both of them for different reasons."

"Jess, you have to pick, you can't be with both of them!
