A Jerk (That's Kind Of Attractive) (Alexios x Reader)

Y/N's p.o.v

          It was quite late when I went to bed, but I just couldn't sleep. When you get disowned by your Spartan mother and Athenic father for not choosing a side in the war, it's not fun. Generally I didn't really care for war so after being kicked out, I moved. A kindly elderly couple took me in for exchange to work on their farm, which I couldn't argue with.

They owned a small cottage down the road from their fields which is where I lived. Climbing into bed, I was about to drift off into sleep when suddenly-

CRASH!

I jolted awake, still half-asleep when I heard muffled voices. My hand reached for my short sword then creeped out of my room towards the sound. I peeked into the front room of my home and was quite surprised to see a man and a woman laying on the ground. "Let's just go and if we get caught, let's just kill them" the man said to the woman. 

"Quit trying to kill everyone Alexios, let us just leave!" the woman snapped back at the man. "I'll have to agree with woman" coming out of my hiding spot with my sword pointing at the two. Something seemed familiar about the woman, but I couldn't put my finger on it. "Who are you two and what are you doing in my home!" threatening the two but the man only laughed "as if a short sword would do anything". My eyes narrowed at the man but I suddenly realized who the woman was. "Kassandra? Is that you?" lowering my sword as a look of realization swept across Kassandra's face. 

"Y/N....it's really you" I smiled widely "why wouldn't I recognized my childhood best friend?". Pulling her off of her feet, I hugged her tightly scolding "I thought you were dead goddamnit!". "I know, I know, but I couldn't let the Spartans find me. So I escaped by boat and ended up on Kefalonia and that's where I was until the war" she relayed to me as I tried not to cry. "Great, now can we leave?" the man said, still sitting on the floor. "Alexios! Behave yourself!" Kassandra snapped at Alexios on the floor. 

"Who's this jerk?" asking which got a tired sigh from my friend. "Y/N, meet my little half brother Alexios. Alexios, meet my childhood best friend Y/N" I got a good look at the man and I had to admit, he was quite attractive. Kassandra was clutching her side then I noticed Alexios was bleeding profusely. "You two are injured! You two need to rest!"

"Nonsense! We're fine!" Alexios said trying to stand up but immediately fell down, holding his head in pain. I rolled my eyes then spat "We're fine my ass!" and guided the two out of my home. 

Alexios' p.o.v

           Y/N let me and Kassandra both lean on her, so I had to admit she was quite strong. Still, I didn't need help from this random farmer woman with her flowing (H/C) locks, piercing (E/C) eyes, and....damnit. I couldn't help but secretly stare at his beautiful woman as she helped us up a pathway to a small farm house. She knocked on the door calling "Cyril! Cyril! Cyril!" and the door opened. A middle aged man opened the door, with curly graying black hair with a quite large scar across his face. 

"Y/N? What are doing here in the middle of the night?" the man yawned, stretching. "My two friends here are injured and need a place to stay. I do not have enough room in my home." I told him and he sighed. "You and your kind heart Y/N....." he opened the door wider so the two could enter. "Goodnight you two, please don't kill him Alexios" she teased me which caused me to eye roll. With a laugh, she walked down the pathway back to her home. 

I watched her walk down the pathway until she got to the end, and glanced back at me. Giving her a quick wave, I entered the home and closed the door behind me. I heard a little laugh from Kassandra which caused me to ask "What?". "You were staring at her Alexios" teasing me which caused me to lightly blush. 

"I was not. I just think it was nice of her to give us a place to stay" hissing at my sister but she didn't believe me. "It's not like I'm going to think about her all night" I remarked, which caused her to chuckle "Sure Alexios, sure.....".
