Altair's p.o.v

My boots pounded against the rooftops, jumping from building to building with my twin sister beside me. "Malik is gonna kill us Malik is gonna kill us Malik is gonna kill us-Y/N would you shut up!" cutting off my twin, both us sounding frazzled. When the Jerusalem bureau came into view, we both stopped in our tracks, hearing the angered voice of Malik. "When I see those two, they are so dead!" Malik snapped at someone from inside the bureau, looking outside for us like a hawk.

She pulled me down by the arm into the shadows, slamming her gloved hand over my mouth. Several more stomps echoed out in the darkness, Malik yelling "ALTAIR AND Y/N IBN-LA'AHAD I KNOW YOU TWO ARE OUT HERE!". When his footsteps became distant, she signaled for me to follow her. Following my sister, we retraced our steps across the rooftops. Now we have to try not to get lost, being found by a very angered Malik, and did I mention guards wanting our heads?

Thankfully, we avoided Malik for now and silently snuck into the bureau to try not to bring too much attention to ourselves. When we entered a back room to make sure no one that could hear us, I quickly got smacked upside the head. "What were you thinking idiot! You nearly got us killed!" Y/N snapped at me with her arms crossed. "What?! Me?! Thanks to your overwhelming cockiness, we got spotted by the guards! Tamir would still be alive if it wasn't for me!" I hissed back at her. "I'M cocky?! YOUR cockiness is the reason you got demoted to a novice! I only came along because I'm a master assassin!" as we argued, neither of us noticed Malik enter the room. He stood watching us argue, getting more livid by the second. "IBN-LA'AHAD TWINS!" his voice cut through the air like a knife, which caused Y/N to gulp. Malik then proceeded to yell at us for the next ten minutes.

"and FINALLY Y/N Ibn-La'ahad, by orders of Al Mualim himself, you will be demoted to novice alongside your brother" Those last words I could tell, stung Y/N but also made her quite mad. "Malik, no! She doesn't deserve this!" coming in to defend my sister but he shook his head. "It's final Altair, she will assist you in your assassinations but she also has to do one more thing as well" the next thing he said even made me mad. "On every other assassination you do, she will not be there. Y/N will help train the new novices" she opened her mouth to protest but Malik left the room before he could receive what he deserved. I only watched my sister groan and tug at her hair in frustration. "Ugh! I can't stand that...that...that JERK!" yelling out loud and I nodded in agreement. "I. want. to. drop. kick. him. into. the SUN" she clearly stated with a stomp of her foot. "I agree sister, but it's Al Mualim's orders" I nodded, watching her saddened expression. As I walked towards the door, I gave her a comforting pat on the shoulder. "Try to get some sleep sister and show them why you deserve to be a master assassin" assuring her and she gave me a tired half smile.

Y/N's p.o.v

The sound of young teenage boys woke me up early the next morning and I quickly changed into my assassin's garbs. My boots lightly kicked up dust as I entered the courtyard, scanning the large group in front of me. One of the male's noticed me at the entrance then whispered something to his friends, causing them to laugh and snicker at me. I only narrowed my (E/C) eyes at them, but continued to ignore them. A young male stepped forward, clearly the leader of the whole entire posse. "You woman! Why do you wear the robes of an assassin?! Go and fetch us some water then cook us some food!" he ordered me, causing most of the others to laugh behind him. I walked forward, sighing annoyingly "because you imbecile of a novice" raising my arm upwards to my side, releasing my hidden blade. Then pointed my blade at the teen saying, "I am an assassin". This didn't seem to make a difference to him but I could see a few of his friends looking nervous.

"We'll see about that!" he charged at me, only causing me to laugh. When he got close enough, I easily dodged him and he tripped over my foot. He face planted into the dust covered ground, then he tried to get up but I rammed by boot into his shoulder. I pinned him down with my boot, feeling the surprised gazes of the rest of the novices. "Anyone else?" looking at the group and they all shook their heads no. "That's what I thought" remarking, removing my foot and I pulled the young novice to his feet. He stumbled back into the crowd, being caught by one of his friends. I felt a firm hand on my shoulder and looked to see that it was Malik. The last person I wanted to see. He was staring at me for a few uncomfortable seconds and he seemed to snap out of his trance when I raised a confused eyebrow.

"Sorry" he blurted out, quickly turning away from me and towards the novices. He was barking orders at the tired-looking novices but only one thought relay on my mind. What had gotten into Malik?

Malik's p.o.v

"You all may rest, but we are doing that drill again and again!" calling out to the exhausted looking assassins. They all groaned, muttering "novices" as I walked away from the courtyard. I rushed through the halls then got to a back room and shut the door behind me. I leaned against the door, slowly sinking to the ground. Why did I seem so flustered when I saw Y/N? I'm so confused!

Malik Al-Sayf, you are a blushing mess!

I ran my hand through my short black hair, giving a deep sigh. "Was Y/N always this attractive?" breathlessly whispering to myself, feeling my face get even hotter. Besides even if I wanted to be with Y/N, why would she ever give me a chance? If I remembered, she hated me and from what I heard from Altair, she wanted to drop kick me into the sun. Taking a deep breath, I left the room and planned for the rest of my afternoon to be spent at my desk.

Walking down the hallway, Y/N suddenly appeared around the corner in a conversation with her brother. My eyes couldn't help but stare at her (H/C) locks, deep (E/C) eyes, wide smile and funny laughter. Her eyes soon met mine and I quickly looked away, trying not to blush. Eventually making my way to my desk, I sat down trying not to think of the assassin who had possibly stolen my heart. (wow that sounds really corny)

Y/N's p.o.v

"Hey Altair?" asking my brother as we both sat on a random rooftop, watching the sunset over Jerusalem. "Hm" "Did you notice when we were walking down the hall, that Malik was staring at me for some reason?" this caught his attention because his head snapped towards me. "I did actually, and I think I know why" he said in a sing-song voice which caused me to roll my eyes. "Why is that dear brother?" his next answer was a questionable one. "I think it's because he likes you" he teased and I stuttered out "n-no he doesn't, why w-would he" blushing. Altair looked at me then burst out laughing "you like him too don't you!?". "I DO NOT" scolding my brother and hopping up to my feet. "Why do you deny it so hard, AND you're blushing" he proclaimed with a swish of his hand.

"I do not like Malik! He's a jerk with his stupid carrier pigeons, constant bad mood, strong arm, deep eyes, kind of cute laugh and-" Altair's giggles cut me off of my rant which caused me to flush bright red. "Oh dear god" covering my hands over my hot face when I realized, "I DO like Malik". Altair had disappeared without a word but I knew what he was going to do.

I sprinted into the bureau, my eyes scanning around for my soon-to-be dead brother. The familiar figure of Altair who came out of a doorway, freezing when he saw my livid expression. We soon broke into chase towards Malik's office. Malik seemed to be deep in thought when we both barged into his private quarters. "ALTAIR! Y/N-" my brother was soon cut off when I tackled him to the ground. "Novices, WHAT do you WANT" he hissed, standing up from his desk. He watched the Ibn-La'ahad twins wrestle on the ground not intervening because he probably thought what we were arguing about was worthless.

I had wrapped my twin brother in a headlock but he managed to release himself from my grip. "Altair! Y/N likes you!" it was only silence after he proclaimed this. Malik's face slowly blushed when he exclaimed "leave us!". Altair smirked at me and exited the room quite fast. It was only me and Malik now. Hugging my knees to my chest, I partially hid my face in the crook of my arm. He looked at me but I didn't dare look at him in fear of rejection. He knelt down to my level, gently reaching out to cup my face in his free hand. Our eyes met yet I quickly looked away.

"Flower...look at me" gently whispering but I still couldn't look at him. Suddenly, I felt his lips against mine which took me off guard. I slowly kissed him back, leaning into the gentle kiss. He pulled away, remarking "do you want to dropkick me into the sun now Y/N?" with a smirk. "Yes, I do" replying, pulling him into another kiss.
