The strange thing about these boys is that sometimes they can be very clever, but other times they are just plain stupid. Even though every one of us has a cell, they bought walkie-talkies just for this trip. Not to mention their the more expensive ones. I guess it was smart in its own way, so they dont have to keep dialing, but still, isnt it just lazy?

“Char, they wanna know if you want to stop for food.” Tony said. We had already been driving for an hour,

“Sure. Where are they thinking of stopping?”

“McDonalds. Is that okay?”

“Mhmm.”

We drove mile after mile without seeing a McDonalds anywhere. All it was was farm country. No big stores. No malls. Just farms, and sometimes a ma and pa shop,

“Maybe we should just eat at that diner.” I heard Shane say over the radio,

“They wanna sto-” Tony started to say, but I cut him off,

“Tell them thats great. I'm starving.” I truly was. I was just about to jump out and take down one of the cows in the fields.

We turned into the parking lot, and we all jumped out of our cars at about the same time, sprinting for the door. Inside it was a cute little place with two shaded blue striped walls, wood floors, and about eight tables in all. Jaiy must have noticed this too,

“Wow. Must not get too busy around her.” He whispered. I elbowed him and whispered back,

“Dont be rude. Im hungry and dont want to get kicked out.” He laughed a little, “And you guys really do laugh too much.”

---

We were seated at two tables that were pushed together. Riley felt inclined to protect me from Tony, or the other way around, because he annoyed me so much in the car,

“So, does this count as one of those breaks that you guys switch cars? Whose in my now?” I asked,

“Well. Dont you gave back seats in your truck?” Jaiy asked. I nodded,

“Yeah, three seats in the back.”

“Then were going to transfer whoever was in Rileys car, over to your car. Oh, and Greg ate a can of beans while he was in the Impala.”

It took me a second to understand his random statement,

“Come on! Really!?” I yelled at Greg,

“What? I was hungry...” His voice became kind of pitiful.

I groaned,

“I hate you all...”

"Char, dont be a brat." Riley said.

Our food came, and mine looked so good! I got a turkey rubin with sauerkraut, and a Dr. Pepper for the drink. All the boys mostly got were hamburgers,

“You have no creativity.” I said under my breath.

After we ate, Jaiy, Greg, and Shane piled into my car.

You know how when you think of a road trip with a bunch of guys, you picture them as cute, nice, and not annoying? Well, they all were pretty cute(most of them were them were pretty popular at school), but they were all definitely annoying.

Jaiy was behind me, singing as loud and obnoxiously to the radio as he could, while Shane was laughing his head off beside me. Greg... Dont even get me started on him,

“Shut up!” I waved my hand behind my chair to try and hit Jaiy,

“No, you shut up!” Jaiy chuckled, “Im trying to perform here!” The others laughed along,

“Im serious. We gotta find somewhere to stay tonight.” I really was sounding like a brat. Whoops

“Riley thought we should just sleep in the cars.” Shane chimed,

I thought about it a moment,

“I saw that coming. Where are we gonna park?” suddenly the walkie-talkie broke the mystery,

“Were gonna pull of here, okay guys?” Tony said.
