Chapter 24: The day.

Aiden's P.O.V.
2 weeks later.

Justine lays on her back as the alarm clock goes off at 7:30 a.m. She runs a hand through her hair and then turns over to lay on my chest, tears pouring down her cheek. "I can't." She barely whispers. I know what she means. Today is Harry's funeral. We bury him at 12:00 p.m. The cause of death was ruled an accidental overdose. Heroin. Justine fell apart. Her heart broke and it hit her hard. And now we have to bury him. I kiss her forehead and then say: "I know. It'll be okay." That's all I can say.

Noon comes before I know it. Justine stands in front of the bathroom mirror, brushing her hair in a little black lace Dolce & Gabbana dress with long lace sleeves, black hoes, and black Prada pumps. I straighten my black tie and adjust my black suit. "Come on." I say and kiss Justine's cheek. "I feel like I'm going to throw up." She says, then leans over the toilet and hurls as I hold her hair back. She's sweaty and shaking. I pat her back and she comes up, breathless and gaunt looking in her black dress, she stands up and opens the medicine cabinet. She then kisses my forehead then washes her mouth out with Listerine and touches up her lipstick. "You ready?" I ask. "Yeah." She says and we head out the door. The hearse sits parked at the funeral home, and my heart turns to stone as it starts moving. It's not as painful if you don't really know who's in the coffin or the hearse. But when it's your 19 year old little brother who you practically raised. It hurts beyond repair.
