"Hey, Justine!" My ex-boyfriend Max says as I walk into the party in a little cherry red satin cocktail dress, furry black coat, and black Giuseppe Zannotti stilettos. "Hey!" I say and kiss his cheek, "Nice party for a couple of kids with Lymphoma!" He chuckles then says: "Yeah, to be honest it's kind of a last minute attempt to get your attention." We never broke up on bad terms. It was just my schedule made cultivating a romance impossible and he wanted a serious "kids & a ring" relationship. I on the other hand begged to differ. So, now I stare at him and wonder could we give it another go. His one hand is in his pocket and the other one is holding a champagne glass. "Wanna get out of here?" I ask almost indefinitely. "Sure. Where to?" "Well." I say, biting my bottom lip. "We are at the Ritz. We could make a reservation and wile the night away with passionate desires?" "Count me in!" He says as we cut out of the ballroom and make a dash for the front desk.
