Lucy's POV

Lin and Groffsauce led me to a sofa in what appeared to be a dressing room. I let go of the taller man's hand that I had still been holding and sat down with my knees protectively pulled up to my front. Groffsauce sat down next to me and Lin stood in front of me.

"What's your name?" Lin asked.

I looked down, "L-lucy."

"Hi Lucy. Could you possibly tell us what a young girl such as yourself was sleeping in an alleyway?" Groffsauce said soothingly.

"... I ran away."

"Why?" Lin knelt down in front of me.

I looked nervously between the two men and decided that they seemed a lot kinder than Arthur. "M-my foster Farther, Arthur, he umm he's abusive and he started to get worse so when I had the opportunity I had to get out I had to take it."

The two men looked at me in shock and as I looked down in shame.

"Is it okay if we just quickly go into the other room to talk for a second?" Lin said standing up.

I nodded and the men left the room. I got up and looked around the room. It was small but bigger than my old bedroom. I liked it. I was looking at some of the bruises on my stomach in the mirror when Lin and Groffsauce re-entered. I quickly dropped my shirt back down over my stomach and ran back to the sofa before they fully entered the room.

"Are you okay?" Groffsauce asked.

I nodded shyly. "S-so what are you going to do with me?"

"Well I was wondering if you would like to come and stay with me for a bit until we can get things sorted out." Groffsauce said.

"Th-that would be n-nice." I said looking up at Groffsauce. "Also why does Lin call you Groffsauce?"

Lin laughed as Groffsauce smiled, "To be honest I'm not sure but if you want you can just call me Jon."

I nodded.

"So, do you have any stuff or what?" Lin asked.

Oh sh*t. I began to search around frantically and ran back out to the alley. "F*ck, my bag's gone."

"Did it have anything important in?" Jon asked.

"$300" I said hesitantly, "I-I'm so s-sorry I d-didn't mean to, I was so stupid."

"Hey, shh it's okay it's not your fault things like this happen all the time." Jon hugged me.

I stiffened up but slowly sunk into the hug. This was the first hug I had had since my parents died. "Th-this is nice."

Jon laughed.

"How about we head to our homes." Lin said and looked up at Jon. "You can bring Lucy with you when we do the show tomorrow."

Jon nodded and looked down at me. "Shall we head to my house."

I hesitantly nodded and cautiously grabbed a hold of his hand. He tensed up and I quickly let go afraid that he would hurt me for holding his hand.

Jon smiled down at me and grabbed my hand again and the three of us walked out of the theater. Lin waved goodbye and went his way and Jon led me to his car.

______________________

When we arrived at Jon's apartment building, he opened the car door and led me up to his apartment. He showed me around and then told me I could sleep in the guest room.

"It's getting late so I'll let you sleep, and we can sort things out properly tomorrow." Jon said.

"Thank you." I said sitting down on the bed in a shirt that Jon had lent me to wear as a nightgown.

"Goodnight."

"Night."

Jon closed the door and I lay back on the bed. It took a while but I eventually fell asleep wondering if things were starting to look up in my life.

So that's it for this chapter. I hope you enjoyed it.
